Birthday Wishes for You

Well it's Wednesday afternoon again and that means it's time for a new challenge at Crafting for all Seasons and our theme this fortnight is 'USE FLOWERS'.

We have three great sponsors for this challenge:

I have decided to use the beautiful 'Nevaeh' image from Saturated Canary  I rarely use Saturated Canary images because I feel I cannot do justice to the gorgeous hair - my colouring skills need much more practice - I feel a New Years Resolution forming here!

I have followed the sketch from the Saturated Canary Challenge, coloured her with ProMarkers and my papers are one of the Nitwit Collections, I had printed them out ages ago and found them when sorting out my Craft Room (which is still ongoing).  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I have decorated the inside of my card to complement the front using the same layout and papers but I'm afraid there is no photograph today as I just couldn't get one that was good enough to show - for some reason the colours were not coming out true.
Card Recipe:

Image:  Saturated Canary - Nevaeh
Papers:  Nitwit Collections
Card Stock:  Crafter's Companion - Core'dinations
Tools:  Spellbinders - Floral Oval, Whimsy Stamps - corner die,  Marianne Creatables - flourish die, X-Cut - border punch (inside card)

Music Bear

Good morning, I hope everyone is well and enjoying the new week. We have a new challenge for you at Bearly Mine Designs and this week the theme is - BLUE AND SILVER.

My decoupage image is from The Best of La Pashe Decoupage CD ROM and the papers are Bearly Mine Designs - Christmas Wishes.  This is going to be my youngest sons Christmas card - he loves music and bears - I would normally put his name on the front but it just didn't look right no matter where I put it, so I will just write on the inside.

I have die cut the stars from corrugated card - I just love the texture and look you get from this, the little star buttons have been hiding in my stash for ages.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I have decorated the inside of my card using the same papers and layout as the front:

Christmas Robin

This is my fourth and final week as Guest Designer for the CD Sunday Challenge and our theme this week is 'Inspired by Nature'.  I would like to thank the CD Sunday Team for inviting me to Guest Design for them, I have thoroughly enjoyed the month I have spent with them.

I have used an image and papers from my Joanna Sheen - The Jayne Netley Mayhew Collection Part 2 CD.  I use this image every year on a Christmas card, I love it so much.  It is not actually a decoupage image on the CD so I print it out multiple times and make my own.

I have decorated the inside of my card using the same layout and papers along with a small image that is actually on the backing papers.

Card Recipe:

Image and Papers:  Joanna Sheen - The Jayne Netley Mayhew Collection
Part 2
Card Stock:  Crafter's Companion - Core'dinations
Tools:  Spellbinders -  Twisted Metal Tags and Accents and Classic Square (inside card)

Snowman Couple

Good Morning everyone, it's time for a new Challenge over at The Crafty Pad, it was my turn to choose the theme this week and I decided to challenge myself and have chosen - Add Some Glitter - it can be anything you like as long as we can see some glitter.

Those of you who know me will be aware that I don't often use glitter, the occasional stickles and that's about it.  Well I remembered why that was when making my card - I managed to get glitter absolutely everywhere, you've never seen such a mess!  My image is The Crafty Pad - Snowman Couple - don't they just look jolly.

I've gone for a silver and white theme with just the splash of blue ProMarker on their hats, gloves and scarves.  The silver is mainly glitter, I'm amazed any managed to get on the card there was so much all over me and my craft room.  I sponged a little background for my snowman couple with distress ink and then embossed some snowflakes onto it, you can just about see it behind them.  I then layered my die cut trees and snowman couple on top of it.  The snowflakes and stars are from my stash and I cut the sentiment from one of last years Christmas cards.

I didn't quite know what to do to decorate the inside of my card because I had not used any designer papers so I kept it very simple using the square that I had die cut from the front of my card and some silver mirror card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

2 Sisters Challenge 119 - Winter Wonderland
Challenge up your life Challenge 83  - 1st Snow
Creatalicious Challenge 40 - Winter

Stamptacular Sunday 191 - Winter Bliss (I created my scene using a digi stamp, die cut trees, embossed and inked background)
Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge 22 - Use some Texture (embossed snowflakes on background and lots of glitter)

Make sure you pop over the The Craft Pad Challenge blog, check out the DT projects and join us for our 'Add Some Glitter' Challenge.

Thank you for calling today, I hope you are having a great weekend.

Liebster Blog Award

My lovely blog friend Arty Andrea has very kindly presented me with the Liebster Award, thank you so much Andrea for your generosity and kind words.

To keep this award alive and thriving I have to choose five people who inspire me and pass it on to them.  It is so difficult to choose just five, but eventually I have chosen the following blog friends, all of whom inspire and encourage me with their creativity, company, kind comments and support:

Andrea - KandA Creative Moments Blog
Betty - Betty's Crafty Place
Jane - cutecrittercards
Michelle - The Messy Barn
Rachel - Fisher's Cards and Crafts

I have copied this explanation directly from Andrea's blog as I did not want to get the rules wrong:

“Liebster is a German word meaning "Beloved," “Favourite," or "Dearest. "This award is a peer to peer award in which fellow bloggers present the award to their favourite blogger with less than 200 followers.”

Rules.
*Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to their blog.
*Post the award on your blog.
*Give the award to five bloggers who appreciate, and have less than 200 followers.
* Leave a comment on their blog to let them know you have given them this awesome award!

Do keep this going and show your appreciation for other bloggers out there who deserve this award.

If you have already received this award and passed it on, then you have already ensured its continuity.

If you feel able, please pass this award on to five blog friends who encourage and inspire you.

Happy 18th

I have made this card for a close friend of my eldest son, we are all going to his birthday party at the weekend.  The boys have grown up together, and although sometimes their paths have drifted apart, they always seem to come together again.

I got the idea for this card from one of the YouTube videos by Simon Says Stamp, I think it might have been Kristina Werner but I'm not positive.  I used some My Mind's Eye paper scraps and some dark blue card stock that I think came from Joanna Sheen, it's been in my stash for ages.  To make the panel on the left of the card I cut different sized strips from several of the paper scraps and stuck them onto some plain paper diagonally to form the pattern.

The sentiment is from a Hot Off The Press pack that has also been languishing in my stash for ages, I made the frame for it using two Spellbinders Large Labels dies.  The stars have been cut using an X-cut die and the number 18 using a Die-namics die.

I have decorated the inside of my card to complement the front:

I also decided to make a matching gift tag using the same method of layering the paper strips and cutting it out with the largest X-cut star die, the only addition is a couple of smaller stars cut from the dark blue card stock.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafted With Love Challenge 17 - Birthday with Number

One Large Snowball

I'm so excited, this is my first post as a Design Team member for Ooh La La Creations, I fell in love with their CD's when I first saw Shoes in Bloom and this was the third time that I had applied to be on their design team, third time lucky - either that or they just felt sorry for me!

Our challenge this fortnight is - SOMEONE SPECIAL - this is the Christmas card I have made for my husband this year, he is very special, particularly at the moment because he has just bought me some lovely new storage for my craft room!  This gorgeous snowman is from the Christmas Presence CD - I just love these whimsical images, they are suitable for both sexes and most ages.

The pyramid image and papers are all from the CD and I have used Kraft card stock to layer everything onto.  My sentiment is computer generated and the die cut snowflake was cut from corrugated Kraft card stock with a selection of Spellbinders dies.  I have kept things quite simple as this is for my husband and just added a little raffia and a small charm to complete my card.

As usual I have decorated the inside using the same papers and layout.

Happy Birthday Dad

This is the card that I have made for my sixteen year old son to give his Dad, I had strict instructions - not fussy, not soppy and bright colours - lots of scope there then!

He is very into music at the moment, he has recently got his old record player out of the loft and bought new speakers and an amplifier for it.  He is currently working his way through all of his old vinyl albums - it must be something to do with his age - so I chose music as a theme.

The papers are some that I've had in my stash for ages called Rock Star, they have been so useful for boy's cards, I've almost used them all up and that doesn't happen very often.  I used my X-cut star die to cut the stars and layered them onto some hand cut card stock stars.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I have kept the inside decoration quite simple using some of the same papers and a Pinking Circle die cut.

Card Recipe:

Papers:  Best Creations Inc - Rock Star
Card Stock:  Joanna Sheen - Onyx Stardream
Tools:  X-cut - Star die, Spellbinders - Pinking Circle, Standard Circle and
Ric Rac Border
Sentiment:  Peel Offs from stash

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Snowman Fun

This is my card for this weeks CD Sunday Challenge and I'm only just in time - it get's dark so early these days it's a struggle to take my photographs in daylight.

I have used my Ooh La La Christmas Presence CD again and the pyramid image is called One Large Snowflake, the papers are also from the CD and my card stock is Kraft.  The snowflakes are cut from corrugated Kraft card stock with Spellbinders dies, the sentiment is a LOTV stamp and the gems are from my stash.

As usual I have decorated the inside of my card to match the front, you can also see the pyramid layers in this photograph.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The CD Sunday Challenge - Beautiful Blue (I hope my card is blue enough)
Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Challenge 25 - Stripes
Hooked on Craft Challenge 26 - Christmas - No Red/Green
Going Grey With Scrap-Creations - Pop it Up
Divas by Design Challenge 59 - Feeling Festive
Card Crafter's Circle Challenge 47 - Patterned Paper
Sparkles Christmas Challenge 22 - Contemporary Colour Combo
2 Sisters Challenge 116 - Pastel Christmas

Thank you for visiting me today, make sure you pop back tomorrow when I will have a rather special post!
