The Good Life

I have created these cards with the Simple Vintage Garden District collection from Simple Stories.

For this card I have used four of the small toppers from the collection, I layered them onto squares of plain paper cut out with a stitched square die and added a fussy cut butterfly.

I have used some of the small toppers again for this card, I used a pierced square die to cut them out and and added some more fussy cut butterflies to embellish.

I decided on a more distressed look for this card, I used one of the larger toppers, several of the papers, a sentiment, fussy cut butterflies and a heart sticker.

For my final card I used some more of the small toppers cut out with a pierced square die, some images from the papers, also cut out with the pierced square die, a sentiment and a fussy cut butterfly.

New Beginnings

I have been a very bad blogger again, it's ages since I have posted anything!  In my defence, we have been very busy in the garden  We have made some large deep beds and have cleared the area where my old greenhouse used to be, we had to remove it to make way for my husband's cabin.  We are now in the process of creating a vegetable patch - I will share some photographs when it is all completed.

I am sharing some more cards that I created with the Crafter's Companion Make and Send pads, again I have tried to make something rather different to the examples that are given, I have used the All Occasions pad, there is also a Christmas one.

For this card I have used a couple of the papers, a topper and a fussy cut butterfly along with my Gemini Edge'ables - With Love die.

For this one I have used my Gemini Edge'ables - Moroccan Trellis dies with two of the papers, a sentiment and some more fussy cut butterflies.  I made the rosette from one of the papers using my Tim Holtz Paper Rosette Die.

This one is more like some of the samples - I have used three of the papers, a sentiment topper and two fussy cut butterflies.  I also cut out and made up one of the envelopes that are included in the pad.

For my final card I used two of the papers and my Gemini Expressions - Thanks A Bunch die, I also made up another envelope.

An Introduction

I have something a bit different to share today - I would like to introduce you to the two latest editions to our family - Peggy and Rita.

We have had them for just over three weeks now - we have had chickens in the past and they were allowed to roam in the garden, however we have Ramsey and Jasper now and we didn't think that it would be a good idea to let them in the garden together so we built them a run.

They do seem to get along really well - the dogs think the chickens are quite interesting and fortunately the chickens really don't seem at all bothered by the dogs.

They have plenty of space and we have put an old garden bench in there for them, they seem to rather enjoy sitting on it, they also have a log to perch on and I am going to find some old plant pots and bits and bobs to add some interest.

Peggy is a lot more adventurous than Rita but they are never very far apart.

We had our first egg yesterday, it was laid by Peggy.

It is quite small but perfectly formed, I seem to remember that the first eggs laid by our old chickens had soft shells, this one is nice and hard.

We had our second egg this morning, again laid by Peggy so I decided to have poached eggs for my lunch and they were yummy.

Hopefully Rita will begin to lay soon and we will have lots of lovely eggs.

Spreading Happiness

I have created these cards with the Spellbinders May Card Kit, this is a really pretty kit - lovely colours.

For all of my cards I have used the papers and die cut elements.

The sentiments are either puffy stickers or from the chipboard sheets.

I have added vellum behind some of the toppers, I find this helps them stand out from the more busy papers.

I have made lots of cards with this collection, I will share more soon.

Thank you for dropping in today, your company is much appreciated.

Life is better with Flowers

I have created these cards with the Nature's Garden Wildflowers collection from Crafter's Companion, I think this is one of my favourite collections in the Nature's Garden range.

All of the papers that I used are from the collection and I used Copic Markers for all of the colouring.

For this card I used the Mailbox Flowers Die and Stencil Set, the Meadow Flowers Die and the Stay Wild Stamp Set.  I cut butterflies using a die fro the Sara Signature Flutterby collection.

I made this card for my Sister, I used the Mailbox Flowers Die and Stencil Set again along with the Wildflower Wreath Die, the 'Happy Birthday' is a Hunkydory Minis die and the 'Sister' is a Creative Crafting World die.

I have used the Mailbox Flowers Die and Stencil Set again, there seems to be a bit of a pattern here!  I used the Marianne CrafTables Happy Birthday die for the sentiment and cut the banner from some corrugated card, the twine is from my stash.

For my final card I used the Wonderful Wildflowers 2D Embossing Folder and the Stay Wild Stamp Set - the die cut butterflies are from the Sara Signature Flutterby collection and I cut the frame using the Topaz Ornate Nesting Dies also from Crafter's Companion.

Make and Send

I popped a couple of the Crafter's Companion Make and Send pads into my basket recently, these are card making pads - the description claims that they contain everything you need to craft and decorate 16 hand-made cards. I like to challenge myself to create something other than the examples that are given, this time I used the All Occasions pad.

The papers, butterflies and sentiment are from the pad, I used my Sam Poole Shabby Basics dies to cut the little doilies and a Tim Holtz die to make the rosette.

For this card I used papers, butterflies and sentiments from the collection again, the envelope is a paper sheet from the pad, you just cut it out and follow the fold lines.  I used my Hunkydory Tag Punch to create the tags and some Sizzix dies to create the flower.

This time I used my Crafter's Companion Patchwork dies to cut the squares from some of the papers, I inked the edges of everything and added a sentiment and butterflies from the collection.

This final card is more the type of card that is suggested in the examples, I have used papers, a butterfly and a sentiment.

For this card I used a couple of Hunkydory Circle dies along with some vellum, two of the papers, die cut shapes and another puffy sticker sentiment.

Again, everything used to create this card is from the Card Kit, I used two papers, die cut shapes and another puffy sticker sentiment.

My final card uses die cut shapes, four of the papers and a sentiment sticker - all from the Card Kit.

Enjoy Life's Journey

I have been going through some of my older stash and decided to have a play with the Sara Davies Nautical Signature Collection from Crafter's Companion.

For this card I have used several of the papers along with some of the dies and stamps, I inked the edges of everything and used foam pads to layer up some of the elements.

It is a long time since I made a twisted easel card so I thought I would make one for a change.  I decided to create a Porthole with a little scene inside.  I used several of the stamps and dies along with some Kraft cardstock from my stash.

I decided on a rustic look for this card, I distressed the edges of the papers and cardstock as well as inking the edges.

This time I created a Tri-fold Shutter Card, I used several of the papers along with some of the dies and stamps.

This is another view of the card showing the inside of the steps

Happy Skies Ahead

Today I am sharing some cards that I created with the Spellbinders April 2022 Card Kit - Happy Skies Ahead.  I am so behind with all of my kits, I really must make the effort to catch up!

Everything that I have used to create this card is from the kit with the exception of the yellow striped paper, I used some of the die cut shapes along with some fussy cut flowers.

Absolutely everything is from the card kit this time - papers, die cut shapes and a puffy sticker sentiment.

For this card I used three of the papers, die cut shapes, fussy cut flowers and a puffy sticker sentiment, I used my Fishtail Flag dies to cut the banners and added a vellum heart, I find the vellum really helps to separate busy patterns without adding lots of cardstock.

For my final card I used two of the papers, some of the cardstock from the kit, die cut shapes and a puffy sticker sentiment.

Let Love Grow

Today, I am sharing some cards that I have made using the Crafter's Companion Natures Garden Wild Flower collection, this is such a pretty collection

For my first card I have used the Mailbox Flowers Die and Stencil Set, the flowers are dies and the little wrap is created using the stencil.  I have used two of the papers, cutting the hexagon shapes from one, the sentiment is a stamp from the collection.

I used the embossing folder from the collection for the focal point on my second card, I coloured it with Copic Markers and added a die cut frame.  I used three of the papers along with my Stylish Swirls Create-A-Card die, I added a stamped sentiment and die cut butterflies from the Flutterby collection.

For this card I used two of the papers, the Mailbox Flowers Dies and a stamped sentiment from the Wildflowers collection, I made a little envelope to put the flowers and sentiment in and added some more of the die cut butterflies from the Flutterby collection.

For my final card, I used the hexagon dies again, this time I cut them out of one of the papers and placed a different paper behind.  I used the Mailbox Flowers Dies again along with a stamped sentiment from the collection, the butterfly on this card was fussy cut from the Mintay Wing Fussy Cut Book
