Fun in the Sun

This is the card I have made for this months Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Bright and Sunny.  I've had this stamp for some time (along with one or two others) and decided that it was time to ink it up.

I have followed the sketch from the current Sketch and Stash challenge and coloured my image with ProMarkers.  I then inked the background with Distress Inks before cutting it out with a Spellbinders circle die.  The papers are Pink Petticoat - I have embossed the plain one with a Darice embossing folder and used my new Spellbinders Curved Border die to cut the wavy border.  The little aeroplane is a button from my stash and the corner is a Die-namics die cut.  I stamped a sentiment using a Personal Impressions stamp and added 3D Crystal Lacquer to the rubber ring and glass.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Bright and Sunny
ABC Challenge 42 - No Flowers
Inky Impressions Challenge 123 - Animals
Let's Craft and Create Challenge 77 - Animal Antics

Faithful Friend

This is the card I would like to enter into this weeks CD Sunday Challenge - Quick and Cute.

It is one of the cards that I made for the launch of the Ooh La La Creations - Faithful Friends CD back in April but never got around to posting.  It was simple to make because everything came from the CD - even the sentiment.  This always makes things simple because you don't have to hunt around looking for papers that go together as well as complementing the image - just some matting and layering and a strip of ribbon with a die cut buckle.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The CD Sunday Challenge - Quick and Cute
LEJ Designs Challenge 66 - Furry Friends
Art Impressions Challenge 116 - For the Dogs (& Cats)

Sailboat

This is the card that I made for my eldest son to give his Grandad on his birthday.  I chose the image of a lighthouse because my Dad was born on the Isle of Wight and loves the sea and all things associated with it.  It also reminds me of lovely summer holidays spent on the Island.

This is another Paper Creator card kit.  I have added some of my own papers from the docrafts 'Ahoy There!' collection and a sentiment from LOTV, stamped onto a Spellbinders Ribbon Banners die cut, that I have inked whilst still in the die.

You can see some of the decoupage layers here:

Happy Birthday Grandad

It's time for a new challenge at Crafting for all Seasons and this week the theme is 'Something Hidden'.  I have made a card for one of my sons to give to their Grandad who is 87 years old today.

Mum and Dad always had a cat and the last two that they had were black and white so I thought that this image from Joanna Sheen's Ivory Cats CD would be ideal, the papers are Bearly Mine Designs Mini Dots.  I have used dark blue card stock and my Cheery Lynn Burlap Border die to add some texture along with some dark blue raffia.

I have hidden the sentiment behind the image.

Very Special

It's my Dad's 87th Birthday tomorrow and this is the card I have made him, I think I should be safe to post it this evening - I don't think he will be surfing the 'net tonight!

Dad has recently moved into a nursing home after being diagnosed with Dementia and has settled in remarkably well.  Just below his bedroom window there is a small aviary with several budgies in it and he has taken rather a liking to them so I thought this image from Joanna Sheen's Jayne Netley Mayhew CD would be perfect.

The decoupage image and leaf papers are both from the CD and the yellow lattice ones are from Pink Petticoat, I computer generated the sentiment.  I have layered everything onto black card stock and punched a scalloped border with a Fiskars edge punch.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Joanna Sheen Challenge - Boys will be boys!
Kaboodle Doodles Challenge 183 - Anything with Scallops
Paper Playtime Challenge 16 - Lots of Yellow

I embossed a piece of Kraft card stock with a Crafter's Companion embossing folder and cut a window with a spellbinders die.  The Ooh La La Creations image has been placed behind the window and the LOTV sentiment in front of the window.  My only embellishment is some black string from my stash.

CongratuLations!

My eldest son passed his driving test last week and this is the card that I made for him.

We all went out for a lovely meal on Tuesday to celebrate, we are so proud of him, he is only seventeen and has kept up the family tradition of passing first time.

I saw the idea for the sentiment on Agnieszka's blog, the papers are from My Mind's Eye - I'm down to scraps now so I'm not sure which collection they are from.  I used two different papers, cut along the chevrons and matched them up.  The black card stock is from my stash and I computer generated the 'L' along with the sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Party Time Tuesday's Challenge 131 - Anything Goes
