Well Groomed

I think I mentioned in my previous post that I was going to take part in an Online Craft Retreat being run by Clare from My Creative Spirit, Clare showed us how to make a Bookstand, Album and a Post Bound Mini Book, we had a brilliant time and today I am sharing part of what I created.

This is the Album in the bookstand, I decorated mine with the Graphic 45 Well Groomed collection.  I fussy cut the image from the signature page and used papers from the 12 x 12" paper pad along with one from the 8 x 8" pad.

This is the front of the Album, I mitred the corners of the striped papers.

This photograph shows the spine, it is a large Album, it measures 9 1/2 x  7 1/2 inches with a 3 inch spine, there are six pages with assorted pockets and photo holders.

This is the Stand with the Album, there is a drawer in the stand and the sides are shaped.

I will be back later in the week to share the inside of the album, I've not quite finished it yet!

Woodland Friends

I'm back, sorry I have been AWOL, it has been so hot in my Craft Room, it is south facing with a large bay window - lovely for most of the year, with lots of natural light and warm in the winter but so hot this past week that I haven't been able to get in it, thankfully it has now cooled down a little!

I have created this mini album with one sheet of A3 cardstock and a couple of sheets of the Graphic 45 Woodland Friends collection.  Above you can see the album closed, it is secured with a magnet, below is the inside of the album opened out.

This is the inside of the album with the flaps opened up to show three small pockets, each pocket has an ephemera/journaling card and a tag in it.

These are the three small tags.

I am taking part in another Online Craft Retreat being run by Clare from My Creative Spirit this weekend, we had the fist session last night and there are three more sessions today and three more tomorrow, we are creating a Bookstand, Album and a Post Bound Mini Book, hopefully I will get them all completed so that I can share them next week.

You make my world happy

I have had this Graphic 45 Woodland Friends collection for a while now, I'm not sure that I really like it as much as I usually like everything Graphic 45, it is growing on me a little though.

I have created this card using an older sketch from Viva La Verve, I used three of the papers and an Ephemera/Journaling card, I cut the image into a tag shape using an old Crafter's Companion die, I trimmed the bottom and rounded the corners.  I snipped the sentiment from another of the Ephemera/Journaling cards, added a couple of tiny fussy cut flowers and a scrunched up seam binding bow.

Seas the Day

I have been having a play with the Graphic 45 Catch of the Day collection, I love the colours in this collection, I have created a folio.

This is the front cover, I have used some rustic ribbon to keep it closed.

This is the folio opened out, there is a pocket on the first flap with a tag inside, a series of flaps in the centre and then a smaller section that wraps around when closed.

Under the centre flaps there is a policy envelope, you could store tickets, photos or memorabilia inside.  There is also a small pocket at the bottom, I have placed some small tags from the sticker sheet in it.

This is the folio opened out to show the back cover and the smaller flap.

Finally, this is the tag that is stored in the first pocket.

I am really enjoying creating albums and folios, they are quite time consuming but great fun - also, they actually use up quite a few papers and, lets face it, I need to use up some of my stash.

Thank you for popping in today and thank you for all of the lovely comments that you leave, they are all read and much appreciated.

Bird Song Album

This is the Mini Album that I have been working on, I have used the beautiful Graphic 45 Bird Song collection.

This is the front cover, I have used the image from the front cover of the paper pad along with a couple of borders.

This is the inside of the front cover, I have crated a small pocket with a tag and the front of the first page, this has a large pocket with a folder inside.

This photo shows the folder removed from the pocket.

The next two photographs are the back of the first page, with a pocket containing a journal card and the front of the second page.

Both pages are the same design, I have just decorated them differently.

This is the reverse of the second page and the inside of the back cover.

These are the two folders removed from the album.

They open out so that you could attach photographs or journal cards.

Finally, these are the two tags, in case you didn't see my previous post.

Oriental Happiness

I have been making some more tags, they are to go in a mini album that I am in the middle of creating.

I have used my Graphic 45 Bird Song collection, on the first tag I used two papers from the collection along with a tag and some fussy cut birds, the sentiment is also from the collection.

On the second tag I used three of the papers, some fussy cut lanterns and a label from one of the sticker sheets - I fussy cut the butterflies from the Prima My Sweet collection.  I also added a seam binding bow two both of the tags.

Tranquility

This is another card that I have created with my Graphic 45 Bird Song collection, I wasn't sure about this collection at first but I think I have now fallen in love with it!

I have used three of the beautiful papers along with a large black tag, I cut the tag down a little and covered it with one of the papers.  I used a Cut-Apart topper, one of the postage stamps and several chipboard pieces.  Everything has been layered onto black cardstock and I added a black seam binding bow and a little twine bow.

Shanghai Girls

I have been having a play with another of my older Graphic 45 collections - Bird Song.

I have used two of the beautiful papers and die cut a doily from another, I also fussy cut a couple of lanterns and a parasol.  I inked the edges of everything and added the Bird Song that I cut from one of the Cut-Apart sheets.

Thank you for popping in today and thank you for all of the lovely comments that you leave, they are all read and much appreciated.

Mother Goose

This is the Album that I created using the Graphic 45 Mother Goose collection.  It's quite a large album, it is nearly 8 x 8".  I was inspired by the Graphic 45 Waterfall Folio that is not available in the UK yet, it comes as a complete album, ready to decorate and a video by Annette Green - you can find her YouTube Channel HERE.

Above you can see the front cover, I used part of the cover sheet along with two of the papers, I have the 12 x 12 Collection, the 8 x 8 Paper Pad and a 6 x 6 Patterns and Solids Pad, I already had the two smaller pads in my stash and then Graphic 45 re-released the 12 x 12 Collectors Edition, which of course I just had to have.

Above is the inside of the front cover and the back of the back panel, it is a trifold Album with a pocket page and two waterfall pages.  There is a pocket on the inside of the front cover with a tag stored in it - you can see the tag HERE.  I used my Stitched Slots Pocket Die, it is made by Matty's Crafting Joy and I purchased it from Amazon, there are ephemera/journal cards and a tag in the pockets.

Below you can see the front of the pocket page.

Next is the other side of the pocket page with the photo mat and the first of the waterfall pages, there are six sections in each waterfall and they are secured with a magnet.

Below you can see both of the waterfall pages side by side.

Finally, this is the back cover.  I am really pleased with this Album, if I make another one I think I will make it a little smaller.

Humpty Dumpty

I am in the process of creating a small album using the fabulous Graphic 45 Mother Goose collection and I have created this tag to place in one of the pockets.

I used a Graphic 45 Large Tag and covered it with papers from the Patterns & Solids collection along with papers from the 8 x 8 Paper Pad.  I fussy cut the Humpty Dumpty, Goose and Flowers from the 12 x 12 Paper Pad and inked the edges before attaching them using foam pads.

Just bee-cause

I couldn't resist the new Crafter's Companion Natures Garden collection - Bee-Youtiful, who doesn't like Bees!  I have lots of ideas of what to make with this collection but decided to create a shaker card first.

I used three of the papers along with the Sweet as Honeycomb die, I also fussy cut a couple of bees and added a stamped sentiment from the collection.

Birthday Posies

I've been playing with my Dovecraft Paper Posies collection again, this time I have created a Squash Fold Card, another easy card to create.

I used four of the papers, a decoupage topper and some pink cardstock to decorate the front of my card, I used my Die-namics Fishtail Flag Die to cut the little banners .

I used three of the papers to decorate the inside and create the little pop up element, the sentiment is from the new Crafter's Companion Ultimate Verse Compendium, have you seen it, it is so useful and beautifully presented in a gorgeous folder.

Thank you for popping in today and thank you for all of the lovely Birthday wishes you left on my previous post for my Son, he had a lovely Birthday topped off yesterday by England winning the football.

Control Fre@k

It was my youngest son's Birthday yesterday, he was twenty three and this is the card that I created for him.

I used the Echo Park Team Spirit Boy collection, I have the digital collection, I think digital is much better because you can resize everything and they are much easier to store.  Also I don't know about you but I always have favourites that I want to use again and again along with some papers that I never use, with digital collections you can just print the ones you are going to use.

I computer generated the Happy Birthday and used Hunkydory dies to cut the SON.

We all went out for a lovely meal last night, it is the first time I have been inside a restaurant for a very long time, we have eaten in the garden of our favourite pub but not been inside for ages - it was so nice to actually celebrate a Birthday by eating out for a change.

Triple Fold Posies

I am having fun experimenting with some different folds at the moment, today I am sharing a Triple Fold Card.

I have used the Dovecraft Paper Posies collection again, this time I used four of the pretty papers along with a decoupage topper on the belly band.

This is another very simple card to create but a little different from my normal square cards.
