Making Cards Magazine May Edition

This is another of the cards that I created for this months Making Cards Magazine, I used the fabulous Suminagashi craft papers and sentiments that are included with the magazine. You can order a copy via the website and you can get it delivered directly to your door with free UK p&p so no need to risk the supermarket.

I just used one of the beautiful papers and one of the sentiments, there are several sheets of paper and a whole sheet of sentiments in the magazine, plenty to make lots of fabulous cards - I just added a little card stock and four pearls from my stash.

April Calendar Folio

I have been browsing Pinterest again and came across some fabulous Calendar Folios created by Gloria Stengel, you can find her blog post HERE, so I decided to dig out my Graphic 45 Children's Hour collection and have a go.

Gloria uses a combination of several collections but I decided to stick with just the Children's Hour collection along with some brown card stock.

On the inside there is are a couple of pockets with room for a calendar sheet, a card and a tag.

It makes a nice change to create something a little different rather than just making cards.

Time for Home

This is another of the fabulous paper collections that I have in my stash - the Time for Home collection from Ciao Bella, I have the 12 x 12" collection and the A4 collection.

I just used papers and elements from the 12 x 12 collection to create this card.  I love the soft blues and lovely images is this collection.  I added a paper from the Sara Davies Winter Wonderland collection and inked the edges of everything, I cut the pretty poinsettias with some Sue Wilson dies from one of her earlier collections.

Wine Bottle Tag

This is another project that I created when I was a member of the Crafter's Companion Design Team -  I decided to step down from all of my design teams when I was told that I have the early stages of Macular Degeneration - I want to have plenty of time to use up all of the stash that I have managed to accumulate over the past 10 years and I have to say, I am really enjoying myself!

I created five projects for Crafter's Inspiration 26, this one is a wine bottle tag using some of the digital papers, the embossing folder and the die.

Vintage Christmas Tree - Rudolph Days

This is my card for the April Rudolph Days Challenge, I have used my Stamperia Winter Botanic collection.

Everything is from the Winter Botanic collection with the exception of the ticket sentiment which is from my stash, I don't have a clue where it came from! I have inked all the edges to keep with the vintage feel of the papers and fussy cut the holly, I cut the banners with my Die-namics Fishtail Flags dies - these must be some of the most used dies in my collection.

I would like to enter this card into the April Rudolph Days Challenge.

I was asked to create 9 projects using the beautiful Suminagashi craft papers and sentiments that come with the new May edition of Making Cards Magazine. You can order a copy via the website and you can get it delivered directly to your door with free UK p&p.

This is one of the cards that I created, the papers are beautiful, you really don't need to do much to make fabulous cards with them and there are lots of super sentiments to go with them.

Pocket Tissue Box

This is another project from the final commission that I created as part of the Crafter's Companion Design Team, I decided to step down from all of my design teams so that I would have the time to use up all of the stash that I have managed to accumulate - I created five projects for Crafter's Inpiration 26.

I used some of the digital papers and the die that is free with the magazine to create a cover for a pack of pocket tissues - you could alter the size of the box so that it could house a chocolate bar if you prefer.

Level Up

I created this card for a family friend using the a topper and papers from the Little Dudes collection from a Hunkydory USB, I'm not sure which one it is.

I die cut the little space invader images from one of the papers, they take me back to my teenage years, they had a machine in our local pub and I would spend hours on it!  You get toppers, sentiments, patterned papers and inserts in the collection, I used bits from most of them.

Time Machine Folio

This is a folio that I have created with my Stamperia Voyages Fantastique collection, again I was inspired by Kathy by Design, you can find her blog HERE

I have just discovered that you can purchase larger collections than the normal 10 sheet packs, you can also get 22 sheet pads for some of the collections and each sheet is double sided and a completely different design so you could be seeing lots more of these!

This is the front cover, very similar to Kathy's.

The inside with the flap on the right side closed.

With the flap open, you can see that I have added a little bookmark on the inside of the flap, there are also two small cards in the pocket on the left side and a tag and some postcards in the centre.

These are the two little cards that are in the pocket on the left.

Something Different

It was my Birthday yesterday, unfortunately we could not go out to celebrate like we normally would but instead we had a lovely dinner at home.

I told my Husband and youngest son not to risk going to the shops to buy me a Birthday card so they decided to make me one, these are what they made:

There are a lot of downsides to being in lockdown because of the coronavirus but there are also some benefits - it's lovely having the whole family together at home and both of my sons have decided that they would like to cook more.  These are Matthew's latest creations:

A very nice Beef Strogonoff with cheesy garlic bread.

Chicken Korma with Onion Bhaji and Pitta Bread, all very tasty - especially the Onion Bhaji.

He cooked this apple cake for my Birthday, it was lovely eaten straight from the oven with some ice cream.

This was Laurence's first attempt at cooking a leek and bacon pasta bake, very yummy - I look forward to seeing what he tries next.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, your company is much appreciated - I will be back tomorrow with a card.

I used two of the beautiful papers, two of the cut aparts and a sentiment, I also fussy cut one of the flowers from another paper and added a die cut doily.

Coffee and Chocolate

This is the final commission that I created as part of the Crafter's Companion Design Team, I decided to step down from all of my design teams so that I would have the time to use up all of the stash that I have managed to accumulate.  I was asked to create five off-the-page projects using the free craft kit and digital papers for Crafter's Inspiration 26.

I decided to create a treat box using the embossing folder, die and papers.

Full Steam Ahead

I have been playing with my Stamperia Voyages Fantastique collection again, this time I decided to create a card folio.

My inspiration came from the Card Kit from Kathy by Design again, you can find details and a link to a YouTube video on her blog HERE - there are rather a lot of photographs I'm afraid!

This is the front of the card folio.

This is the inside front, these are not the easiest of projects to photograph!

The inside, with a pocket and a small card that would be perfect to pop a gift card or some cash in.

This is the front of the folio and the small card from inside.

Finally, the small card from the inside on it's own.

I really enjoyed making this, I think it might be going to my niece's husband for his birthday later this month.

Christmas Deer

I'm having so much fun playing with my stash, I'm still buying a few bits and bobs, mainly paper collections but I am trying to focus on using up lots of the stash I have had for some time.

I have created this card with my Stamperia Winter Botanic collection, everything is from the collection with the exception of the stamped sentiment which is from the Kirsty Wiseman Many Greetings stamp set.  I have inked the edges of everything to keep with the vintage feel of the papers.

Floral Bobbin

I used one of the shaped cards from the Craftwork Cards Fab Fabrics collection to create this card.

I covered the shaped card base with blue dotty paper from the collection and then cut strips of floral paper, inked the edges and layered them up across the body of the bobbin.  The sentiment, scissors and other embellishments are all from the collection, I inked the edges of everything and attached them using foam pads for dimension.

Adventure is Waiting

I have been creating with some more of my Stamperia Papers, this time the Voyages Fantastique collection, these are perfect for masculine makes.

My inspiration came from a Card Kit from Kathy by Design, I don't have the kit but she has details and a link to a YouTube video on her blog HERE.  Everything that I have used is from the collection, I have inked the edges of everything and used Tattered Lace dies to cut the flowers.

If the Crown Fits

More Graphic 45 Princess collection today, there are so many pretty elements that you can fussy cut in this collection - that's probably why I love it so much!

I have just added some cream card stock and pearls from my stash, everything else is from the collection - I cut the circular topper from one of the papers and fussy cut the flowers to add some additional dimension.

Winter Greetings

I have been playing with my Stamperia Winter Botanic collection again.  It's so nice to just play with my stash now that I have no Design Team commitments, having said that, I need to get on and make some cards for a magazine commission this week!

Everything is from the collection, I have inked the edges of everything and used my Die-namics Fishtail Flags die to create the banners.  I used an old tag die that I have had in my stash for ages to cut the sentiment out and added a little scrap of ribbon tied with a twine bow.

I have some more Craftwork Cards Fab Fabrics to share today.

I have used two of the pretty papers along with a topper.  The die cut frame is a very old Spellbinders die and the border is a Fiskars edge punch.  I added some buttons, ribbon and a little scissor charm from my stash.
