Pink and Brown

Well, another weekend is over, that means it's time for another Whoopsi Daisy Challenge. Did you see the fabulous CD Joanna Sheen launched on Create and Craft on Saturday - Daisy and Friends:

It's full of Linnie's Whoopsi Daisy images.  There are coloured and non-coloured versions of every topper and it also has backing papers, inserts, bookmarks, stationery sets, mini cards and some fabulous templates for door hangers and plaques, you can buy it from Joanna Sheen's online shop HERE.

OK, now onto my card for this weeks challenge which is 'PINK AND BROWN' what a gorgeous colour combination chosen for us by Bonnie.

I chose this fab image from sheet 212, each sheet has at least four images on it and they are available from the Whoopsi Daisy Shop HERE.

I coloured the image with a selection of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers and cut it out with a Spellbinders Die.  I have inked the edges of everything with distress inks and layered the papers and image onto Kraft card stock.  Full details of everything that I have used are detailed below:

I have decorated the inside of my card to match the front:

Card Recipe:

Image:  Whoopsi Daisy - Sheet 212
Papers:  Willow Designs - Polly Pickleberry CD
Tools:  Spellbinders - Large Labels, Die-namics - Butterfly Die,
Marianne CreaTables - LR0164, Martha Stewart Border Punch
Sentiment:  LOTV ticket stamp, Wild Rose Studio sentiment stamp
Embellishments:  seam binding, button, twine, doily and gems from stash

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafting When We Can Challenge 10 - Something not intended for Crafting (button and doily)
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 139 - Recipe (digital image, ribbon, buttons)

Make sure you pop over the the Whoopsi Daisy Challenge and have a look at the other Daisy Divas projects.   Have a go at this weeks 'PINK AND BROWN' challenge, you could win two sheets of Linnie's fab images if you use a Whoopsi Daisy image on your card and Linnie always has a freebie available for you to use if you don't have one of your own.

Thank you for looking today, I hope to see you again soon.

Flower Power

The challenge over at Polka Doodles this week is to use a template in your project, it can be a physical one or a digi template.  I decided to delve into my Paper Boutique CD collection and chose Floral Bouquet from Volume 1.  I love these shaped card templates, you can achieve so much dimension with them.

They take a while to make, cutting out all the separate parts and layering them up but well worth the effort I think.

These cards are quite difficult to photograph, you can't really see the dimension.  I decorated the inside of the card as I normally do.

Everything used to make this card was printed from the CD.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges.

Card Makin' Mamas - Something Old (I've had this CD for ages)
Craft Your Passion Challenge 94 - Colour Bingo (pink, purple, green)

Thank you for looking.

Gemini

This is my card for this weeks CD Sunday Challenge, they would like to see your Zodiac creations.  My first thought was to reach for Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Dreams CD again, but then I remembered that her Ivory Cats CD has a Zodiac section and as my Mother loves cats I could get really organised and make a birthday card for one of the boys to give her.  Thank you so much CD Sunday for helping me to get ahead, I usually leave all my cards until the last minute.

I'm really struggling to take good photographs at the moment, it's either raining and really dark or so sunny that everything looks bleached.  It was the latter when I took this photo, the backing papers are actually quite yellow, the dotty one is from Willow Designs Polly Pickleberry CD and the one with butterflies on it is from the Ivory Cats CD.  I went for a contrast with the base card stock and used some bright blue that has been in my stash for some time.

I punched the border with a Martha Stewart Punch and the butterfly is a Die-namics die cut.  The sentiment stamp is from Wild Rose Studio and is stamped onto a CREAlies die cut label.  The flowers, ribbon, lace and gems are all from my stash.

This is the inside of my card, I have decorated it to complement the front:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

CD Sunday Challenge - Zodiac
Little Darlings Challenge 16 - Polka Dots
PaperPlay Challenge Week 4 -  Lovely Lace
My Mum's Craft Shop Challenge 41 - Flowers
Hooked on Craft Challenge 16 - Something Bright
Moving along with the Times Challenge 133 - Blooming Marvelous
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 201 - You're a Gem

Thank you for looking today, please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Anyone for Tea?

Time for another Willow Sketchie Challenge and this week it's Shell's turn to provide the sketch and here it is:

It's another relatively simple sketch with lots of potential for you to embellish it as you please, just make sure that we can still recognise the sketch.

This is the card that I have made:

The Design Team have all used the new Polly Pickleberry CD again and I have chosen my favourite - decoupage.  Both the image and the papers are from the CD, I have layered them onto some mat gold card stock that I had languishing in my stash pile.  The sentiment is LOTV mounted onto a scalloped circle die cut.  The flowers, gems and leaves are also from my stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly - Happy Highlights - Decoupage
Critter Sketch Challenge 99 - 3 Embellishments
The prize is a voucher to spend in the Willow Designs Shop, so pop over to the Willow Sketchie Challenge Blog, have a look at the DT members gorgeous cards and have a go.  You have until 20:00 on Wednesday 1st February to get your entries in.

Bling It!

Wow!  That week has gone so quickly, it's time to show you my second DT card for The Whoopsi Daisy Challenge.  This week we have the theme ‘BLING IT’, we want to see everything sparkle and shine.

I chose to use this fab image from sheet 202, don't forget there are four lovely images on each sheet.

There is glitter on the flowers, gems in the corners and her shoes are glazed, none of which show up particularly well in the photo unfortunately.

I coloured the image with ProMarkers, I tried to colour the stockings black to start with but they ended up looking more like woolly tights, than sexy stockings, so I started again and used grey instead of black.

The card base and mats are all black card stock, the image, panel, corners, border and leaves were cut with Spellbinders dies and I made the large flowers by taking apart some old blooms from my stash, colouring them with a black ProMarker, adding glitter to the edges and layering them back up making them bigger.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I have decorated this inside of my card quite simply, I thought there was probably sufficient detail on the front.

Card Recipe:

Image:  Whoopsi Daisy Sheet 202
Papers:   The Paper Shelter - Gothic Girl
Tools:  Spellbinders - Reverse Wonky Rectangles, Ironwork Accents and Eyelets Pendants
Embellishments:  flowers, lace, glitter, gems and pin  from stash

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Deep Ocean Challenge 17 - Sparkle and/or Glitter
Card Makin' Mamas - Something Old - Papers, Flowers and Lace
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Buttons, Bows, Bling and Blooms
Make sure you pop over the the Whoopsi Daisy Challenge and have a look at the other Daisy Divas projects.   Have a go at this weeks BLING IT' challenge, you could win two sheets of Linnie's fab images if you use a Whoopsi Daisy image on your card and  Linnie always has a freebie available for you to use if you don't have one of your own.

Thank you for looking today, I hope to see you again soon.

A Quick Reminder .....

Good afternoon everyone, just a quick reminder about the challenge going on over at Willow Sketchie, it's my turn to host again this week and this is my sketch:

It's quite a simple sketch to work with and you can embellish it to your hearts content.  The challenge runs until 20:00 on Wednesday 25th January, so come on have a go you could win a voucher to spend in the Willow Designs shop, there are loads of Willow Designs goodies there including the new Polly Pickleberry CD and other items like ProMarkers.

This is a Tissue Box Cover that I made for the recent Create and Craft launch of the CD:

The papers and the image are all from the Polly Pickleberry CD, all I have done is ink and distress the edges and layer everything up.  I coloured the image with ProMarkers and cut it out so that I could mount it onto an embossed Spellbinders shape.

I added some ribbon around the edge of the lid, die cut a hole and added the scalloped edge with a smaller version of the Spellbinders die that I used for the image.  To finish I added some ink to tie everything together.

I would like to enter this project into the following challenges:

Digi Days Challenge 25 - Ribbons and Bows
DYSU Challenge 55 - Patterned Paper
Little Claire's Challenge 17 - Anything but a card
Little Darlings Challenge 15 - Favourite Colour - Purple

Birthday Boy

This is the second card that I have made for my neighbour who has asked me to make a card for her forty something son who lives in France.  I decided to give her a choice so this one has cars on it as she suggested and the one I made earlier in the week had a dog on it.

The image is from Joanna Sheen's Nostalgia CD, the papers are from an American Traditional Designs Card stock Bundle and the sentiment was cut from a backing paper from the Polka Doodles Not For Girls CD.  The card cannot be heavily embellished as it has to go in the post. to France so I just added a couple of corners cut from the Core'dinations cards stock that I used to layer the papers and image and some co-ordinating brown Core'dinations.

I have decorated the inside of the card

I do hope my neighbour likes one of them.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Lollipop Crafts Challenge 63 - No embellishments
Truly Scrumptious Challenge 72 - Something Forgotten - My Nostalgia CD
Whimsy Inspiration Challenge 22 - Colour Combination - Blue and Brown
Crafty Card Makers Challenge 59 - No Floral Embellishments

Thank you for looking today.

Willow Sketchie Challenge

Time for another Willow Sketchie Challenge and this week it's my turn to provide the sketch again and here it is:

Please feel free to add embellishments as you wish, you can use anything from your crafty stash but of course we would love to see something from Willow Designs.  It's OK to rotate the sketch or re-size the elements as long as the original sketch layout can be recognised.

This week the Design Team have all used the new Polly Pickleberry CD and here is my card:

The image, papers and sentiment all come from the Polly Pickleberry CD and are layered onto Kraft card stock, Polly has been coloured using ProMarkers.  I used a Spellbinders Scalloped circle die cut to mount the sentiment and the border is a Martha Stewart punch. The ribbon, flowers and gems are all from my stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Card Crafter's Circle Challenge 5 - Happy Birthday

On top of the news!

My neighbour asked me to make a card for her forty something son who lives in France, so it could not be heavily embellished as it has to go in the post.  She suggested cars, but I know he likes dogs and has one that looks a bit like this so I thought I'd make two cards, I'll show you the second later in the week, and give her a choice.

This gorgeous image is from Joanna Sheen's 'Furry Friends' along with two of the papers, the third paper with the text on it is from Polka Doodles 'Not For Girls', I have layered everything onto Core'dinations card stock.  Keeping in mind that the card has to posted to France the only embellishments are some corners cut from the Core'dinations card stock and three brads from my stash.

I have decorated the inside of the card, again keeping it simple to save on weight.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Here Come the Boys Challenge 18 - Sketch
I Did It Creations Challenge 90 - Animals
Stampalot January Challenge - Monochromatic
Pile It On Challenge 3 - Fuzzy Friends
Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog - Celebrations
Crafty Bloggers Network Challenge 9 - Monochrome

Enchanted

This is my entry for the CD Sunday Challenge this week, the theme is Enchantment, so I quickly got out my Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Dreams Cd.  There is only one problem with this Cd and that is trying to decide which image to use, after much deliberation I chose this one:

I used some Hunkydory Foiled card and Silk-art card stock and mounted everything onto gold Mirri Card.  The sentiment is also from a Hunkydory kit and the flowers are from my stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The CD Sunday Challenge - Enchantment
CRAFT Challenge 137 - Celebrations
ABC Challenge - H is for Happy Birthday

Thank you for looking today, please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Whoopsi Daisy DT

I'm so excited, I have been chosen to join the Daisy Divas as a Guest Designer on the Whoopsi Daisy Challenge  for six months.  How good is that -  I get to play with Linnie's fab designs every week.

This is my first DT card  for the new challenge - ANYTHING BUT SQUARE:

I really wanted to make a scalloped circle tent card but I didn't have any scalloped circle cards, well I wasn't going to let that stop me so I found a template on the internet and made my own.

I chose some lovely papers from Nitwit Collections and used my new FlexMarkers and ProMarkers to colour this gorgeous image from sheet 212, you get four images on each sheet - it was so difficult to choose which image to use.  I cut the centre circle out with a Spellbinders die and joined the tent card at the top with seam binding coloured to match. To finish I added some flowers from my stash.

This is a different view of the card, you can see that the sentiment is stamped on the inside of the card.

Card Recipe:

Image:  Whoopsi Daisy Sheet 212
Papers:   Nitwit Collections - Cotton Candy Kisses
Tools:  Spellbinders - Standard Circle
Embellishments:  ribbon and flowers  from stash
Sentiment:  Polka Doodles

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

My Mum's Craft Shop Challenge 39 - Here come the Girls
A Gem of a Challenge 37 - Photo Inspiration
Bunny Zoe's Challenge 20 - Picture Inspiration
Crafty Calendar - New News (New GDT position)

Make sure you pop over the the Whoopsi Daisy Challenge and have a look at the other Daisy Divas projects.   Have a go at this weeks 'ANYTHING BUT SQUARE' challenge, you could win two sheets of Linnie's fab images if you use a Whoopsi Daisy image on your card and  Linnie always has a freebie available for you to use if you don't have one of your own.

Pink and Shabby

This is my entry for this weeks Polka Doodles Challenge - Vintage/Retro.  I've gone back to one of the first Cd's I ever bought from Polka Doodles 'Love & Cherish', I always reach for this one if I need to make anything even slightly romantic but I've also used it for Thank You cards so it is very flexible.

I have inked the edges of the papers with Antique Linen Distress Ink and also coloured the white vintage seam binding with it, I scrunched the ribbon up whilst it was still wet.  The papers are layered onto Kraft card stock.  I used the same Kraft card stock to cut the Bird Cage and Bird and to stamp the sentiment onto.  I sprayed the Bird Cage and Bird with Gold Spray and Sparkle, I tried to keep it looking distressed by not spraying it evenly.

I have decorated the inside of my card to complement to the front:

Card Recipe:

Papers: Polka Doodles - Love & Cherish Cd
Card Stock: Kraft
Tools:  Spellbinders - Bird Sanctuary
Embellishments:  ribbon, string, pearls and buttons from stash
Sentiment:  Crafter's Companion -  3 Birds stamp and LOTV tag

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Polka Doodles Week 2 - Vintage/Retro
CES Challenge 68 - Vintage Dahling!
Phindy's Friday Challenge 88 - Tic Tac Toe (buttons/ribbon/distressing)
Cooking It Up Challenge 87- Pink/Flowers/Pearls (the flowers are on my backing paper - I hope this counts)
One Stop Craft Challenge 165 - On the Spot & Ribbon
Freshly Brewed Challenge 78 - Pink, White and Craft

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope to see you again soon.

Twenty one today

It will be my niece's twenty first birthday on 18th January and this is the card that I have made for her.  It took me ages to decide on the design because she is not a girly sort of girl and she is not into cute and cuddly - not much left I hear you say.  I hope she will like this:

The papers are all from one of my Bearly Mine Designs Cd's and are layered onto black card stock.  The flower and leaves are cut from the same black card stock and some red.  I tied a twine bow on a button from my stash and added it to the centre of the flower and just added a few red gems to finish the card .  The sentiment was produced on the computer and layered onto the red card stock.

This is the inside of my card, I have decorated it to complement the front:

I wold like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Moving Along with the Times Challenge 130 - Spots and/or stripes
Simon Says Stamp - Spots and/or Stripes
Kaboodle Doodles Challenge 101 - Celebration (twenty first birthday)
Simply Create Too Challenge 4 - Layers
Charisma Cardz Challenge 1 - Happy Birthday
Going Buggy Challenge - Black, white and red

I just thought I would mention that I have finally converted to Google Chrome after putting it off for ages, well why did I not do this before.  All the blogger problems that I have been experiencing have been resolved, it is so much faster and after just a few teething problems, mainly me being silly, I really love it.  So if you like me are putting of the decision I would say don't, bite the bullet and just do it, you won't regret it.

Thank you for stopping by, hope to see you again soon.

The Stamp Man 3rd Annual Awards

The Challenge over at The Stamp Man is to present your best/favourite project from 2011 and reshow it.  After allot of deliberation I have decided on this one:

Full details of how the card was made can be found here.  I think I chose this card because I love the colour pallet and the cute image.  I also tried a few new techniques like stamping around the outside of the image and also the image projects from the die cut.

Thank you for looking,.
