Pile on the Flowers

It's Team A's turn to showcase the inspiration at the Whoopsi Daisy Challenge this week and the theme this time is PILE ON THE FLOWERS - we would like to see flowers on your wonderful creations, they can be on the image, the papers, embellishments, wherever you please - as long as we can see some flowers.

This is my card using one of the lovely images from sheet 212

I have coloured her with a combination of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers, I also coloured some old white flowers and seam binding for the bow to match.  The flower centre's have been made using my Crafter's Companion Epiphany Shape Studio - button round 14.

As you can see I have flowers on the image, the papers, flower shaped buttons and flower embellishments, I even used floral paper to decorate the inside of my card:

Gathering Flowers

This is my DT card for the latest Willow Sketchie Challenge:

This week Kelly has provided us with this fab sketch:

and she has chosen the theme:

Things Outside

This could be something to do outside, something that lives outside or a view from outside etc., so plenty of scope there.

Don't forget you don't have to follow both the sketch and the theme unless you want to, one or the other will do just fine.

As you can see I have rotated the sketch and also followed the theme.  I have used one of Sharon's latest digi stamps - Busy in the garden - available from the Willow Designs Store and coloured her with a combination of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers.  The papers are from the Polly Picklebery CD also available from the store, please see the card recipe for full details of everything I have used.

I didn't have any green card stock to match so I coloured some with the same ProMarker that I used to colour the image and then used this for the ribbled corner, punched leaves and punched elements of the flowers.

I have decorated the inside of my card:

CARD RECIPE:

Image:  Willow Designs - Busy in the garden
Papers:  Willow Designs - Polly Pickleberry CD
Card Stock:  Dies to Die For - Kraft

Christmas in April

Well, it could be Christmas with the weather we're having at the moment, we've just had another hail storm here.

I have decided that I'm going to ink up one of the many stamps, that I have languishing in my stash, every week and the first one I haven chosen is Humphrey's Corner 'Snow Fun'.  I have so much 'stash' that I have never even taken out of the packaging it's getting to the point where I can't fit anymore in my craft room and it's just got to stop!

I've noticed a few Christmas challenges starting to appear and thought I would make a start on my Christmas cards early this year.  I love this cute little image, I coloured him with ProMarkers and used papers from the accompanying CD.

Two of the white snowflake brads started life as silver brads, but as I wanted them all to be white I painted them with my Pebeo paint.  I added Crystal Lacquer to the snowflakes and snow on the image but you can't really see in in the photographs.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

The inside of my card is decorated using the same papers.

CARD RECIPE

Image:  Crafter's Companion Humphrey's Corner - Snow Fun
Papers:  Crafter's Companion Humphrey's Corner - Christmas Collection CD-ROM
Card Stock:  Crafter's Companion - Core'dinations
Tools:  Spellbinders - Classic Circles, Classic Scalloped Circles
Embellishments:  metal snowflake brads, snowflake charm and twine from stash
Sentiment:  LOTV

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

ABC Christmas Challenge - H for Hardware and DT call
CHNC Challenge 69 - Lots of Layers
Christmas Card Challenge Week #20 - Twine
Christmas Inspirations Challenge 45 - Bingo (White, Sentiment, Layers)

Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge 23 - Four Legged Friends
PaperPlay Challenge 16 - Animal Antics
Paper Crafting Journey Challenge 7 - 3 or more patterned papers
Sparkles Christmas Challenge #15 - Colour Me Happy (my favourite Christmas colour combination is red and white)

Thank you for looking in today, I hope everyone is having a great weekend and I hope to see you again soon.

Ship Shape

This is a card I have made for my niece's husband, now that is showing my age isn't it.  He builds yachts for a living so I though something nautical would be appropriate.

The image is a La Pashe decoupage sheet and the papers are from my Bearly Mine Designer Extreme CD.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.  I matted the image onto black card stock and then onto Kraft to make it stand out a little.

This is the inside of my card, I tried to show the decoupage a little but I don't think I succeeded.

I always find it difficult to embellish men's cards so I kept it simple, just some string with a button tied to one side and an anchor charm.

CARD RECIPE:

Image:  La Pashe
Papers:  Bearly Mine Designer Extreme CD
Card Stock:  Dies to Die For - Kraft, Joanna Sheen - Onyx Stardream
Embellishments: string, button and charm from stash

Yummy Cup Cake

This is my DT card for this weeks Willow Sketchie Challenge, it's one of Sharon's newer images added to the Willow Designs Shop last month:

I have followed the great sketch provided for us this week by Anne-Marie

I have also followed the theme which is Spots and Stripes  You don't have to follow them both like me, either the sketch or the theme is just fine but I know some of you will do both.

The fab pink polka dot papers are from the Polly Pickleberry CD and the striped one is from a Bearly Mine Designs CD, the card stock is Core'dinations and the buttons and twine are from my stash.  I have glazed the little cherry on top of the cake but as usual my photography skills are lacking and you can't really see it.  The flowers are punched from the Core'dinations card stock using Punch Bunch flower punches and I've added a little button to the top of each one.

This is a view of the inside of my card:

Football Crazy

This is the first time I have posted in what seems like ages, I took the time to catch up on some DT work over Easter, and then by eldest son came down with tonsillitis again, I feel so helpless because there is nothing you can do to help.

Anyway onto my card, this is a very simple card for my son to give to one of his best friends for their 16th Birthday:

I have used my Polka Doodles 'Not for Girls' CD, this was one of the first Polka Doodles CD's that I ever bought and I find myself reaching for it whenever I need to make a card for a boy.

I created the 16 sentiment in word using an image of a football I found on google, I cut it out with my spellbinders circle die and sprayed it with Crafter's Companion Spray and Shine before matting it onto a punched black circle that I had in my stash box.

The inside has been simply decorated using some matching backing paper from the CD:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Polka Doodles Challenge Week 14 - Big Birthdays
My Mum's Craft Shop Challenge 52 - It's a Celebration
Crafty Catz Challenge 127 - CAS

Thank you for looking.

Let's get distressed

It's time for another new challenge over at The Crafty Purple Frog and it's one of my favourites this time - LET'S GET DISTRESSED.  I have used the gorgeous image The love is gone and of course I chose the decoupage option

I decided to make a scalloped circle shaped card for a change and have distressed the edges of the papers and card stock.  The ribbon is white American Seam Binding that has been scrunched up to add to the distressed feel.

I punched some flowers and scrunched them up before layering them up with some small roses on top.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

You can just see the decoupage in this picture and the inside of my card that has been decorated to co-ordinate with the front.

CARD RECIPE:

Image:  The Crafty Purple Frog - The love is gone
Paper:  Joanna Sheen - Jane Shasky from the heart of the garden
