Mermaid Wishes

The August Spellbinders Cardmaking kit is out now and I haven't used up the July one yet, nothing new there then! Anyway, this is another card that I have created with the July kit - Under the Sea Magic.

I have used four of the pretty papers this time, two of the sentiments and a fussy cut mermaid, seahorse and three starfish.  I added 3D Crystal Lacquer to the starfish but you can't really see it in the photographs.

Heart of Gold

I have another mermaid to share with you today, I'm really enjoying making cards with this Spellbinders Cardmaking kit.

You're Mermazing

This is another card that I have created with my July Spellbinders Cardmaking Kit - Under the Sea Magic.

I have used several of the pretty 6" x 6" papers, I cut three hexagons with my Gemini Elements Stitch Edge Hexagon dies and adhered them to the card base using foam pads for dimension, I then added a fussy cut mermaid along with some gold stars and a sentiment from the collection.

Under the Sea Magic

Have you seen that Spellbinders now have a UK Website, no more import fees and there is free P&P on orders over £50, well I just had to take advantage of this and I have signed up for their monthly club kits - I have signed up for the VIP value club that includes all of the monthly kits at a fabulous price.

I have created this card with the July Cardmaking Kit called Under the Sea Magic, the thing that I really like about kits is that they often contain things that would not necessarily be your first choice and it challenges you to try something different - that is certainly the case with this kit.

I have used two of the beautiful 6" x 6" papers, one for the background and the lovely one with the mermaid on as a topper.  I added a sentiment from the kit and fussy cut some seashells from the mermaid paper.  Everything has been backed with gold Mirri and I added three gems that were part of the kit.

Watercolour Blooms

I have created another card with my Hunkydory Watercolour Garden collection, this time I have made a side stepper card, it's a while since I made one of these.

I have used one of the beautiful toppers, one of the printed papers, a sheet of the printed card stock and a sentiment tag - I cut the two border strips from another of the printed card stock sheets.  The floral embellishment is from a die cut sheet that is part of the collection, there are two sheets so I fussy cut some of the flowers from the second sheet so that I could layer them up.  I always find stepper cards difficult to photograph, that is probably why I don't make many!

Sir Vagabond Aviator

I am currently in the process of creating a folio using my Stamperia Sir Vagabond Aviator collection, it is another of the Facebook Live Classes that Clare Charvill runs, I haven't joined one for a while but I really liked this project.  I have lots of strips over paper left over and decided to make a quick card to use some of them up.

I inked the edges of some of the strips and used them to create the background, then I fussy cut the Statue of Liberty and the two labels and added them with some foam pads.  I used some more of the leftover strips to decorate the inside of my card.

Farmlife

I have created another card with my Mintay Farmlife collection, I have used different papers this time and lots more of my favourite fussy cutting.

I like the gingham papers in this collection, there are several different colours.  I cut the little fence from one of the woodgrain papers using one of my very old dies, the Marianne Creatables LR0205 and this time I used the Square Scribble Frame from Tonic.  I distressed the edges of the papers and added a sentiment from my stash, another very old item, this time from Craftwork Cards.

Life is Beautiful

I have finally concluded my battle with Dyson and had time to play with my Mintay Farmlife collection.

I have been fighting with Dyson for over two months since my V11 Cordless decided to stop working, it as still under warranty, they now have this remote diagnostic and repair service - well that certainly doesn't work very well!

They wrongly diagnosed the fault, sent the incorrect part, lost the filter from my V11 when it was returned to their workshop, no replacement filters available, sent more replacement bits that did not have a filter, replaced the V11 with a new V15 that had a fault, eventually, replaced V15 with a V11 Outize which actually works but is so heavy I can only clean one room at a time because of my Rheumatoid Arthritis.  I give up, I don't think I will be buying anything from Dyson ever again!

Anyway, this is the card that I created.

I used several of the papers from the Farmlife collection, I distressed the edges for a country feel.  All of the flowers and bits and pieces were fussy cut from the collection and I cut the frame with my Tonic Studios Circles Scribble Frame, the sentiment is from Hunkydory.

Love and Best Wishes

Now that I have finished sorting out my Craft Room I have had a little time to play, I have created another card using The Paper Tree - Yesterday's Garden collection.  I decided to create a slimline card and used my Crafter's Companion Pretty Polka Dots Cut and Emboss Folder.

I used several of the small toppers from the Yesterday's Garden collection along with one of the sentiments, I fussy cut some of the flowers from the toppers so that I could layer them up for dimension.  The patterned papers and dark brown card stock are also from the collection.

Happy Unbirthday

I have created another card with my Stamperia - Alice Through the Looking Glass collection.

I used one of the beautiful patterned papers as the background and fussy cut Alice from one of the Card Collection toppers, I popped her up on the matching topper cut from the paper pad and added that to the card front using foam pads. I added the Eat Me label using foam pads and decorated the inside of the card with more of the patterned papers.

Tweedledee and Tweedledum

I decided to create some cards with the Stamperia Alice Through the Looking Glass collection, I have a bit of a thing about Alice!

I have the 12 x 12, 8 x 8 and 6 x 6 paper pads, I also purchased the Cards Collection, there are several different sizes of toppers, some are repeats of the toppers in the 12 x 12 paper pad and you know what that means - I can do some fussy cutting and layer them up for dimension.

I used one of the beautiful patterned papers as the background and fussy cut Alice and Tweedledee and Tweedledum from one of the Card Collection toppers, I popped them up on the matching topper cut from the paper pad and added that to the card front using foam pads. I trimmed the inside of the frame from the Card Collection topper to use on the inside of the card, I just put some cream cardstock behind it and layered it up on some more of the patterned paper. I fussy cut the little tag from one of the papers and added a small twine bow.

Christmas Wreath

I have created another card with the Sara Signature - Winter Wonderland collection, I'm not sure who this one is for yet, it's quite flat so it might go in the post.

I fussy cut the wreath from one of the 12 x 12 papers, I cut the bow twice so that I could layer it up for dimension, the background is one of the 6 x 6 papers.  The die cut sentiment is part of a Poppy Stamps tag die, I cut it from dark green card stock, it looks black in the photos but it actually matches the green on the wreath and papers.

Three French Hens

This is the third card that I have created with my recently purchased First Edition The Twelve Days of Christmas collection, no surprise it is the Three French Hens.

I used two papers from the 6 x 6 paper pad and cut the toppers from the 12 x 12 paper pad.  The sentiment and the bells are also cut from the 12 x 12 pad along with the small holly pieces, I used foam pads to add a little dimension.

Two Turtle Doves

I'm sorry I haven't been around much recently, I have been suffering from some rather nasty headaches.  As some of you may know, I was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration a couple of years back and I think my eyesight is beginning to get worse, especially with the reduced light that Autumn is bringing and spending time looking at a screen is straining them.  I have decided to drastically reduce my screen time and so I will not be visiting everyone's blogs as much, I will still be making cards and posting on my blog but will just limit my time on social media and commenting - I hope you all understand if I don't visit you as much as usual.

This is another card that I have created with my recently purchased First Edition The Twelve Days of Christmas collection.

I have used three of the papers and a topper, this time I used cream card stock to layering everything on and fussy cut a couple of doves from one of the other topper sheets.

Beauty is Power

I have been taking part in another Facebook Live Workshop with Clare from My Creative Spirit this weekend, we are creating a Sliding Box and Album.  I am using the Stamperia Hortensia collection to decorate mine and decided to take some time out to create a card.

I used two papers from the 8 x 8 paper pad along with several fussy cut pieces from the 12 x 12 paper pad, the doily is a Dress My Craft die cut and the sentiment is also from the Stamperia collection, I wrapped it with some twine that I secured with a bow.

Seasons may change ...

I have created this shaped easel card using a topper and papers from the Hunkydory Autumn Days collection, I often find it difficult to use the toppers these days, I think it is all of the gold on them!

I fussy cut a sentiment from another topper and used it as the stopper for the easel and added a fussy cut butterfly and bow, the sentiment reads "Seasons may change but our Friendship remains", I thought it was really nice.

Loveliest Smile

This is another card that I have created with the Hunkydory Autumn Days collection, this time I have used a topper from the Luxury Topper Collection.

I used one of the papers from the 8 x 8 paper pad along with some gold Mirri card stock, I cut an additional border from the papers so that I could add it to the bottom as well as the top.  I added a sentiment from the topper collection and fussy cut an additional bow so that I could layer it up.

Little Bear

This is another card that I have created with my Kaisercraft Hide & Seek collection, I think the little bears are so cute.

It is a very similar design to one of the earlier cards that I created, I was trying to use up the papers that I had already cut into.  The scalloped border is part of the 6 x 6 paper pad, I just added some ribbon from my stash.

Young, Wild + Free

This is the second card that I have created with my Kaisercraft Hide & Seek collection.

I love the pretty papers and bold toppers in this collection, I cut this topper out with a stitched circle die and added it to a slightly larger gold circle.  There is another set of toppers as well, they are not as bold as these dark brown woodgrain and gold ones.  The small sentiment is also from the collection, I just added some gold Miri cardstock, some fussy cut leaves and a gold twine bow.

Grow Wise

I have created this sweet card with my Kaisercraft Hide & Seek collection, it is a very nature inspired collection with lots of cute animals, flowers and leaves.

I have used papers from the 6 x 6 inch paper pad along with one of the borders.  The topper and the fussy cut animals are from the 12 x 12 inch paper pad, I just added some ribbon and gems to embellish.

I went for a lovely walk this morning, the first time I've been out for a while what with being rather poorly.  I managed to pick lots of blackberries for the freezer, there are so many this year - we will have plenty for nice apple and blackberry pies and crumbles in the winter.
