I have been receiving lots of questions from friends and followers on my blog lately so I thought I do a little series of posts to answer some of them.
I have decided to start with
"What paper do you use for printing?"
Backing Papers: I print all of my backing papers on a coated paper. I use 170G Matt Coated Inkjet Photo Quality Paper from Photo Paper Direct
Decoupage and Toppers: I often use the same paper to print decoupage images - you do need to be careful when cutting out though because as the paper is coated you can scratch the surface with your scissors.
I also use satin photo paper when I would like to achieve a glossy result. I use A4 Satin Photo Paper Premium 200g also from Photo Paper Direct.
You might think that both of these are rather expensive but they are always on offer. I also find that if you place an order and then don't order for a while you will receive additional offers via email - I have even managed to buy one pack and get three packs free, so I bulk buy and then wait for another good offer.
Digital Images: I use Joanna Sheen's Elegance Satin card stock when I am going to colour with Alcohol Markers.
and Crafter's Companion Watercolour Card if I am going to use watercolours.

thank you for this!
Thanks Pauline, this information is very helpful, Kate x
Thanks so much for these tips!!! I will save your informations for the future!
I have big problems with digital images: when I colour them, the colour blend the ink... I think that the problem is the inkject printer, but I will try to use these papers. Thank you
I've often wondered what folks who color with Copics use since Copics are so picky.
I use the same paper for printing, love how it brings out the colours AND the special offers they have. I will have to have a looky at the Satin, I was wondering how it did, glad to have you use the paper to be able to know it is good enough for you :)
I have used the 170g for alcohol markers too, it's OK, but maybe didn't blend as it should. Will have to take a looky at the Elegant Satin too. Thank you for the information, it comes in VERY handy to know who uses what.

This is wonderful info, Pauline, thank you for sharing your preferred products. I always wondered how you achieved such vibrant colours with your beautiful papers - my printer is not good but maybe it's my paper! I don't know if they have those brands around here (or even if I can afford them) but I'll have a look. Thanks and I look forward to your next Q&A!
useful information, but I don't have a good colorprinter for the moment. But I will keep the information for the future! Thank you!

I have always wondered about your papers - they always look so crisp and bright and clean. I LOVE this post - TFS!

have a great weekend!
Thanks for sharing this information. It's so helpful!
Another good photo paper to print on is called ICE matte photo paper, they have 3 weights which are 128gsm, 190gsm & 220gsm. The 220gsm is double sided so you can print either side where as the other 2 are only one sided. They print excellent quality and true colours. Can be purchased from many places but price check first as some retailers are more expensive than others, I pay around £3.50 per pack of 50 sheets. Hope this also helps 😊
