Home Sweet Home

Good evening, I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, the weather has been kind to us in Hampshire.  It was Andover Carnival today and the boys are all up at the live music event leaving me to get some crafting done.

This is a card I made for some very good friends of ours who have just moved house.  I used a lovely Willow Designs image from the Double Sprinkles of Kraft CD, I reach for this CD again and again it's good for so many different cards.  The backing papers are from another of my favourite CD's - Bearly Mine Designs.

I got my sewing machine out and stitched around the edges, it's the first time I've ever tried this and it's not as easy as I thought it would be -  I'm quite pleased with the results though.  A few die cut butterflies with some gems and a sentiment finish what is quite a simple card, your really don't need many embellishments with such a lovely image.

I decorated this inside of the card to complement the front.

Image and Sentiment:  Double Sprinkles of Kraft
Papers:  Bearly Mine Designs Designer Extreme CD
Tools:  Die-namics Butterflies
Embellishments:  gems from stash

There is a sketch challenge going on over at the Willow Sketchie Challenge blog at the moment, why don't you pop over and have a look you could win a lovely prize.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Moving Along with the Times Challenge 109 - Brand Spanking New
Digital Tuesday Challenge 121 - Gardens with things with wings
Thank you for looking today, please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Winter Wishes

Wow, that week has soon gone, it's time for another Willow Sketchie Challenge and my second DT card.   It's Shell's turn to host this time and this is her sketch.

This week the DT are all using 'Precious' - the digital collection includes 1 black and white outline image (perfect to use with your ProMarkers), 1 pre-coloured image and 1 A4 sheet of matching backing paper and is available from Willow Designs.  I decided to make a Christmas Card so I used the black and white outline image and coloured her red with my ProMarkers.

I used one of my Bearly Mine cd's for the backing papers, they're great because you can re-size the papers to fit whatever size card you're using.  Glitter has been added to her star, crown and coat and I stamped a sentiment.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I also decorated the inside of my card to complement the front.

Papers:  Bearly Mine Designs Designer Extreme CD
Tools:  Spellbinders - Classic Squares (inside card)

Catching Butterflies

Good evening, I've been busy making a card for this weeks LOTV Challenge - Fun and Games.  This cute little bear looks like he's having fun and games catching butterflies.  I've used a LOTV die cut square and some papers printed from one of my Bearly Mine CD's.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I layered the topper onto a doily that has been sitting in my stash pile for ages and cut a little tag from a smaller die cut square.  The bows are seam binding from WOC as are the flowers, finally I added a charm that has also been hiding in my stash pile for a while.

I have decorated the inside of my card to complement the front.

You Make Me Proud

Good Morning, this is a card I've made for the latest Teddy Bo Challenge - Teddy Bea Only.  I chose the image 'A moment on the hips' and coloured it using ProMarkers.

I've had these First Edition Papers  - Love letters - sitting on my desk for a while now and decided that I really should use them instead of just looking at them, it really is a shame to cut into them though, they're so beautiful.  The card stock is Core'dinations again and the ribbon and flowers are from my stash.  I used my Martha Stewart Doily Lace edge punch to create a border because I thought it matched the lace on Bea's top and stamped a sentiment to finish.

I decorated the inside of my card to complement the front.

For You

Good morning all, Sharon over at the Willow Sketchie Challenge Blog has asked us new DT members if we would like to start a week early, we were scheduled to start next week on 29th July, well who could refuse an offer like that, certainly not me.  The challenge this week is being hosted by LIS-M and this is her sketch, I'm sure you'll love it.

I used a pre-coloured 'Precious' image, the digital collection includes 1 black and white outlined image (perfect to use with your ProMarkers), 1 pre-coloured image and 1 A4 sheet of matching backing paper and is available from Willow Designs.

The design papers that I used were free with my Quick Cards magazine.  I've used core'dinations card stock to mat the papers and image and distressed the edges.  I punched some flowers from the same core'dinations card stock, distressed them and added some flower shaped gems.  To complete my card I die cut a border strip, added some ribbon and finally added a little stamped tag.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I decorated the inside of my card to complement the front.

Owl Antics

I just can't stop myself, I keep going back to my Double Sprinkles of Kraft CD and printing out Winnie and Walter images.  This time I chose a lovely cute picture of them both and followed Sharon Armstrong's tutorial to colour them in with my ProMarkers, it certainly helps to have some expert help.  You should pop over to the Willow Sketchie Challenge Blog and have a go at the weekly challenge, there's a new one every Thursday.  You never know you might win a lovely download from Willow Designs, there are loads of lovely goodies to download and buy in the shop.

The backing papers were free with my Quick Cards magazine.  I added some lace and ribbon, stamped a little tag and to finish cut and layered some flowers from the papers along with some die cut leaves and swirls.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I decorated the inside of my card to match the front.

Winnie Says Thank You

Good evening all, I'm proud to announce that I have been picked for my first Design Team position, I was lucky enough to be chosen by Sharon over at Willow Designs to be part of the Willow Sketchie Design Team, how good is that.  I love Sharon's designs, especially Winnie and Walter the lovely little owls that feature on the Double Sprinkles of Kraft CD available in the Willow Designs shop along with loads of other lovely goodies, pop over and have a look.

There is a new challenge each Thursday and this week it's Miria's turn, this is her sketch:

As the new design team don't officially start until 28th July I can still enter this weeks challenge so this is the card that I've made.  I have to admit that I re-sized it a little, OK,  I re-sized it rather a lot, but I just wanted to make the most of the wonderful Winnie image that I had coloured using one of Sharon's tutorials on the Double Sprinkles of Kraft Cd.

I just love this little owl, the papers are from the Cd and I backed them with my second favourite thing at the moment - Core'dinations White Wash.  I distressed all the edges, added a bit of ribbon from my stash, a few die cut butterflies and a stamped sentiment and we're there.  The basic layout of the sketch is there, even if I did tweak it a bit, sorry Miria!  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I have decorated the inside of my card to complement the front.

Image and papers:  Double Sprinkles of Kraft
Tools:  Die-namics Butterflies, Spellbinders Labels Fifteen (inside card)

Beary Merry Christmas

This is my card for this weeks LOTV Challenge 104 - A sketch by Donalda, it's a great sketch to work with, I can see me using this one again.  I have decided to make a start on my Christmas Cards so I used one of the LOTV Beary Merry Christmas die cut images and teamed it up with some Bearly Mine papers.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I have edged all the papers and the image with gold (unfortunately it doesn't show up very well in the photos) and they are matted onto Kraft paper.  I also added some glitter to the little star being held by the bear.

The inside of my card is decorated to complement the front.

Just for You

This is my card for the latest Willow Sketchie challenge, this week we are using our favourite sketch from the last few months including 3 buttons , 2 ribbons and a sentiment.  I chose Sharon's sketch from 21st April and have used a lovely Winnie image and papers that were free in my Papercraft Essentials magazine a while ago.

I had to colour some plain American seam binding with a blossom coloured ProMarker because I didn't have any ribbon that would co-ordinate and added some ric rac for the second ribbon.  I had three buttons in my stash that matched perfectly and the sentiment was part of the sheet with the image.  Full details of everything I have used are detailed below.

I have decorated the inside of my card to complement the front.

Papers:  Willow Designs

Two Today!

Good afternoon everyone, this is my entry for the TeddyBo Challenge - Anything But A Card.  I really struggled with this one as I usually only make cards.  In the end I decided to make a Photo Frame and a Door Hanger for a two year old.

I used one of the TeddyBo Number images, coloured with ProMarkers, these are really useful for children's birthday cards as you can colour them according to who they are for.  My Picture Frame is for a little boy, hence the blue, green and yellow colour scheme.

I paper-pieced the number two and the balloons using HOTP 'Citrus' papers and added some little strings to the balloons.

I also added some bunting cut from the same papers and joined together with string along with some extra balloons.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

One final photograph of the door hanger which I have decorated to match.

Papers:  HOTP ' Citrus'
Card stock:  Core'dinations White Wash
Embellishments:  string from stash

Thanks for looking today, I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Top Gardener

Hi everyone, this is the card I've made for the Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge - One for the boys.  I do love the challenge of making boy's cards - that's probably got something to do with living with three of them.

The image and the papers are from the Crafter's Companion Popcorn Platinum Mens and Romance CD that was a free gift with a magazine subscription, I've also managed to use up a few bits and pieces from my stash - always a good feeling.  Full details of everything I have used are detailed below.

I have decorated the inside of my card to complement the front.

Image and Papers:  Crafter's Companion Popcorn Platinum
Card stock:  Colorplan - Gooseberry Fool
Tools:  Spellbinders -Classic Squares and Martha Stewart Arch Lattice Punch
Embellishments:  buttons and raffia from stash

Shopping Our Stash Challenge 7 - Candy, Kits, RAKS and Swag - the CD was a free gift and the buttons and raffia were part of some blog candy that I won.

Well that's it from me this evening, thank you so much for stopping by.

New Arrival

Good afternoon all, this is the card I have made for this weeks LOTV Challenge 103 - Celebrate.

This cute little image is one of the LOTV die cut, ready-coloured squares from the Special Occasions sheet, these are ideal for when you are short on time.  I've used Core'dinations WhiteWash Card stock again and have been trying out my new Fleur De Lis Spellbinders.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I have folded the flat flower for a change, an idea I got from Tab over at Tabby Craft Designs (an incredibly tallented lady), and topped it with some little roses.

I have distressed the edges of the core'dinations card stock slightly and added a lovely big bow and some die cut butterflies topped with some co-ordinating little gems to finish the card.

The inside is decorated to complement the front.

I apologise for the poor photography again, I would appear to be jinxed at the moment, not enought light yesterday and too bright today, hopefully my next attempts will be better.

Thank you for looking today.

Special Days

Good evening everyone, sorry I've been AWOL for a while but it was my youngest son's birthday at the weekend, he was thirteen.

This is a Tent Card I've made for the Willow Sketchie Challenge.  This week there is an added recipe included with the sketch - Something Red, Something Shiny/Sparkly.   I've used another of the Winnie Owl images from my Double Sprinkles of Kraft CD by Polka Doodles and Willow Designs.

I apologise for the shadows, it's rather dreary here this evening.  This is the first Tent Card that I have made and I have learnt quite a lot from the experience.  I used some more of my Core'dinations WhiteWash Card stock, I just love the effect you get when you sand this card.

Sorry for the overload of photographs but I couldn't figure out how best to show this type of card especially with the lack of light.

I have added red gem stones to the die cut butterfly embellishments and glitter to the butterfly in Winnies hair to meet the something shiny/sparkly recipe criteria.

I have also decorated the back of the card and added a die cut circle to give somewhere to write a sentiment.

Papers:  docrafts - the little cake shoppe
Card stock:  Core'dinations - WhiteWash
Tools:  Spellbinders - Standard Circles and Scalloped Circles, Die-namics Butterflies

Thank you for looking, I hope you have a good week.
