Birthday Boy

I made this card for a very good friend of my eldest son, he has just turned seventeen, probably one of the most difficult ages to make a boy's card for.  He's not really into sport or anything so no help there then!.

The papers are My Mind's Eye, from the Miss Caroline Dolled Up collection, there are some floral ones in the pack but quite a few of them are suitable for masculine cards.

I used a Sizzix die to cut the label and a Britannia Die to cut the sentiment, the large star is an X-cut die and I punched the smaller stars and added some 3D Crystal Lacquer to them.

I have also made a matching tag to go with my card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments Challenge 88 - Any Sentiment
Shopping Our Stash Challenge 116 - For the Boys (papers from stash)
Allsorts Challenge Week 222 - It's all about the sentiment
Sweet Stampin' - Spots and Stripes
Party Time Tuesdays Challenge 135 - Anything Goes
Eclectic Ellapu Challenge - It's Sentimental
PanPastel Challenge 35 - Spots and Dots

Thank you so much for joining me today, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that takes the time to visit my blog and leave a comment.

A nice design Pauline and I always think it makes a card that extra bit special when the inside matches as well.

Thanks so much for joining in my 'It's all in the sentiment' theme at Allsorts this week.

Another fabulous card Pauline. I love that peeled paint look paper, stunning. Its very difficult to make a card for a teenager that doesn't really have any interests but you have managed to do an amazing job! Michelle x

I agree with you - this age is the trickiest one for making male cards. Cute images are often too cute, and adult images can be a bit "boring"! Therefor it's easier to put the effort into colors and designs. I think you solved this one nicely:)

This is an awesome card for a seventeen year old boy. It's graphic and bold with cool texture and clean lines. I love the simplicity of the tag. It really lets the message and those fun stars stand out. Thanks for joining our It's Sentimental challenge at Eclectic Ellapu. I hope we see you again soon.
