Fun and Games

I have some masculine cards to share today, ideal for a boy that is into video games, I have used a variety of papers and dies.

I have used some older papers from my stash for this card, I think they are from Echo Park, I found a picture of a controller on the internet. I printed it out and used it as a stencil to draw around and then cut out.  The buttons are all made up from die cut circles layered up.

For this card I used Crafter's Companion papers from the Modern Man Collection and Hunkydory dies from the Fun & Games Collection.

I used more of the papers from the Crafter's Companion Modern Man collection for this card and the controller is another one that I cut out using the stencil that I created.  The large die cut sentiment is a Memory Box die that I have had in my stash for ages.

For my final card I used more papers from the Echo Park collection along with die cut controllers from the Hunkydory Fun & Games collection.

Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to visit my blog and I much appreciate the comments that have been left.  I will make the effort to visit your blogs in the near future and see what you have all been up to in my absence.

Take care.

The Milano Memory Box

This is what I have been working on over the weekend, I took part in an Online Craft Retreat with Clare from My Creative Spirit, we have been making a Memory Box, Album and Photo Box.

This is the Memory Box, it is quite large, it's 12" tall, 11" wide and just over 6" deep and has a recessed window in the front.  I used the Graphic 45 Come One, Come All collection to decorate mine.

It has a lid that opens and a drop down front, both are secured with ribbon.  On the inside there is a divider that creates a section to store the Album and another to store the Photo Box.

There is also a small drawer in the bottom and it stands on wooden feet.

Glowing Candle

This is another of my quick Christmas cards, this time I have used a Memory Box die that has been in my stash for some time.

I cut the die from white card stock and backed it with some Grunge papers from Craft Consortium.  I added another layer of white card stock and Craft Consortium papers, the sentiment is computer generated.

The man, the myth, the legend

This is the card that I created for my youngest son to give his Dad, very different from the one I gave him!

I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest and decided to create my own take on it.  I used some very old Memory Box Alphabet Dies to cut the letters, I cut them from fun foam and some dotty papers that I had in my stash.  I layered them up and attached them to the card, I computer generated the words and added fun foam to the back of them before attaching them to the card.  I used some more of the dotty papers to decorate the inside of the card.

A wonderful holiday

Matt and Hannah went on holiday to Cyprus recently and Matt asked me to make a layout using a couple of their favourite photographs.

I used papers from the Sara Davies Shabby Chic Signature collection and created some die cut flowers using some Tattered Lace Dies - the leaves are a Sue Wilson die.  I die cut the Cyprus letters with a Memory Box die, I cut them twice - once from pink and once from green so that I could inlay them.  I also inked the edges of everything with Distress Ink.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, your company is much appreciated.

A Nice Tipple

It was my youngest son's 19th Birthday on Sunday - that makes me feel very old!  This is the card that I made for him from me and his Dad.

I used a topper and card stock from the Crafter's Companion Camden Town Male collection.   I had two toppers the same so I created a decoupage layer for dimension.

I die cut the stars and cut the 'SON' letters using my Memory Box Alphabet Tile dies - I cut them twice once from coloured card stock and once from gold Mirri card and then inlaid the gold into the coloured bases before layering them onto more gold Mirri.

Sorry for having so many photographs but I always find it difficult to photograph easel cards!

This is an 8 x 8 scrapbook page that I created for Simply Cards & Papercraft. I was commissioned to create five masculine projects using the sunburst technique.

I used Dovecraft Back to Basics Blue Skies papers, X-Cut Star Dies and Memory Box Alphabet Tile Letters Dies - the photographs are my youngest son when he was quite a lot younger.

Inspired by Nature

It's time for a new challenge at Ooh La La Creations and the theme for the next fortnight is Inspired by Nature chosen by ME.

I have spent most of my life living in the country and love everything to do with nature, so 'Inspired by Nature' was the obvious choice for my challenge theme. As you will see from the fabulous DT inspiration the options for this challenge are endless, you could choose from animals, birds, flowers, country scenes, gardens - anything you like really as long as it has something to do with nature, I can't wait to see what you create - you don't have to use an Ooh La La Creations product but we love it when you do.

I have used a gorgeous image and papers from the Ooh La La Creations Yesterday's Memories CD to make my card.

I have used the decoupage image, no surprises there then!  I cut the image out with my Spellbinders Regal Frame die, the gold frame is from the same set.  I made the flowers with a Memory Box die and the leaves and flourishes were cut with a Sue Wilson Finishing Touches die.

To finish my card I added some ribbon and pearls from my stash.
