Blue Christmas

Good Morning everyone, it's time for a new Challenge over at The Crafty Pad and the lovely Dawn has chosen the theme - Christmas is Coming - so we would love to see all of your Christmas related projects.

I seem to be having a bit of a colour theme with my Crafty Pad DT cards at the moment the last one was Pink Butterflies and this time it's Blue Christmas, I have used the delightful Crafty Pad image Christmas Tree Trio and this is my card:

I printed the image out three times onto some pale blue papers from the Bearly Mine Designs Christmas Wishes collection and added the brown with my Cocoa ProMarker, as is usual with me I have cut the images out to create some decoupage layers.  The base paper is also from the Bearly Mine Designs Christmas Wishes collection and my card stock is Core'dinations, the only embellishment is some Ice Stickles added to the snowflakes on the image.

I have decorated the inside of my card using the same papers and a smaller image:

Our wonderful Sponsor for this challenge is:

Dearest One

This is my card for this weeks CD Sunday Challenge - Poetry Corner, I decided to use this cute little House Mouse image from Joanna Sheen's Just the Two of Us Decoupage set.  The CD part of my card is the papers - they are from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse Inserts CD, the base has large hearts on it - I've been quite successful at covering them up completely and the smaller hearts are from one of the inserts on the CD.

You would not believe the problems I've had trying to post this card, first when I downloaded the photographs I had taken, because of the angle I had taken the shots at, the little mouse looked like he had four ears and then when I tried to insert my watermark it kept coming up really huge, almost obliterating the entire image, even though the settings were all the same as usual.  So back to the drawing board and start again.

I followed the sketch from Sketch 'n' Stash, I really like this sketch and this is the second card I have made using it.  My card stock is Core'dinations and the sentiment tags are LOTV, I used my Fiskars edge punch on the central border and corner - the buttons and twine are from my stash.

This is a close up of the little poem for those of you who have not seen it before:

You can see the inside of my card and a little of the decoupage layers in this photograph:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The CD Sunday Challenge - Poetry Corner
Sketch 'n' Stash Challenge 99 - Sketch (House Mouse Decoupage and buttons are both old stash)
Charisma Cardz Challenge 42 - Don't be Square!!
The ABC Challenge - Z is for Zoo
Southern Girls Challenge 56 - Animal Crackers
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 99 - Ribbon and/or Buttons (heart shaped buttons)
Stamp N Doodle - Ribbon/Twine (twine in buttons and tags)
Ladybug Crafts Challenge - I need a P! (pink, poem, punching)

Well I got there in the end - minus the watermark - a job for hubby this evening!   I wish you all a lovely weekend - yes, it's nearly here!

Pretty in Yellow

I have made this card for the Songbird Challenge - Build Me Up Buttercup - yellow must be one of the main colours on your card.  As soon as I saw this challenge I just knew the image that I wanted to use, the only problem was I didn't have it, so I had to buy the CD.

What do you think of the way I have been taking my photographs lately, I never seemed to be able to get them straight, so I have been taking them at a slight angle - you can't see if they are straight or not now!

The Image and the papers are all from Ooh La La Creations All Dressed Up CD, I wanted this CD when I first saw it on Create & Craft but managed to resist.  I eventually bought it directly from Ooh La La and it arrived quicker than it would have from Create & Craft.

The card stock is Bazzill Basics from Craftie-Charlie, the sentiment is from The Crafty Pad and the ribbon was in my stash.  I have inked the edges of the sentiment to match the image.

The inside of my card has been decorated to match the front leaving a blank rectangle with inked edges to write on.

This card is for my niece's daughter - does that make her my grand niece or great niece - I'm not quite sure, anyway I hope she likes it.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges.

Songbird Challenge 6 - Build Me A Buttercup
Lollipop Crafts Challenge 92 - Happy Birthday
Sketch N Stash Challenge 99 - Sketch (new stash CD, old stash ribbon and sentiment)
The Squirrel and the Fox Challenge 29 - Use a Ribbon
Daring Cardmakers Challenge - Don't Worry, Be Happy
The Emerald Faeries Challenge 34 - Anything Goes
The Perfect Sentiment Challenge 53A - Happy Birthday/Happy Anniversary

Thank you for calling today, they say it is going to get cold at the weekend - it doesn't feel particularly warm here at the moment, so I'd better find my woolly socks out!

Winter Homes

This is my card for the Ooh La La Challenge, the theme this fortnight is Christmas Sentiment.  I chose this fab Pyramid image from Christmas Presence called Winter Homes, there are so many gorgeous images on this CD it was difficult to choose which one to use.

The papers are also from the CD and the card stock is Core'dinations.  I have kept the embellishments quite simple again - just some card candy from my stash.  The sentiment is from the LOTV Simply Sophisticated collection.

I have decorated the inside of my card to complement the front, you can also see the Pyramid layers in this photograph.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Ooh La La Creations Challenge 116 - Christmas Sentiment and DT call
Totally Papercrafts Challenge 139 - Christmas 9 weeks and counting
ABC Christmas Challenge - U for Up To You
The Poodles Parlour - Anything Goes

Cute Autumn

This is my card for this weeks CD Sunday challenge - Autumn Splendour, I have really struggled today trying to take decent photographs, I'm not the greatest photographer at the best of times but with this miserable weather it has been virtually impossible to get a decent picture.

The cute little puppy image is from Joanna Sheen's Puppies & Kittens CD and the papers and sentiment are from Docrafts Wellington Past Times CD.  I cut the image out using my Spellbinders Classic Circle die and decoupaged the leaves to add a little interest, I have left the card quite plain because I think it would be suitable for a man.

I have used to same layout to decorate the inside of my card.

Card Recipe:

Image:  Joanna Sheen - Puppies & Kittens CD
Papers and Sentiment:  Docrafts - Wellington Past Times Collection CD
Card Stock:  Crafter's Companion - Core'dinations
Tools:  Spellbinders - Classic Circle, Scalloped Circle

Have a good weekend.

Good morning, I hope everyone is well and enjoying the new week. We have a new challenge for you at Bearly Mine Designs and this week the theme is - Anything Goes.

I have used one of my LOTV images from the Mini Masterpieces range called Carol Singing to which I added some Stickles and 3D Crystal Lacquer.

The papers are Bearly Mine Designs - Christmas Traditions and a little scrap of music paper from my stash.  I have distressed the edges of the papers and image with antique linen distress ink and stamped some foliage on the corners of the image.  The snowflake embellishment is a Whimsy die with a star shaped button in the middle and the sentiment is LOTV.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

Image:  LOTV - Mini Masterpieces range

Pink Butterflies

Good Morning everyone, it's time for a new Challenge over at The Crafty Pad and the lovely Helen has chosen the fab theme -
Distress it! - so Ink it, Rip it; Sand it, Scrunch it ... whatever it takes to make your project look distressed!

I decided to use the gorgeous
Butterflies with Verse image and lots of distress ink.

I used a shaped card blank that I bought from Create and Craft ages ago, well I used most of it anyway - I have loads of different shaped cards and I hardly ever use them.  I cut this one in half and folded it down the middle for the base card and then cut a section out of the other half for the top layer. I traced around the shape on a page from a French/English dictionary that is now redundant (my son has now dropped French and German studies).  I inked the card blanks and the dictionary page along with a doily with a little old paper and a lot of victorian velvet
distress ink.

I printed the butterfly images and the verse after changing the size and colour in Word.  I then cut the verse out with a Spellbinders Floral Oval die and cut around the butterfly images to which I then added some 3D Crystal Lacquer.  All that was left to do was a little more distressing, tie a bow and some construction.

This is the inside of my card, I didn't quite know what to do for this, so I kept it very simple with a butterfly image and a little distress ink.

Our wonderful Sponsor for this challenge is:

The prize consists of:

1 set of rubber Christmas themed stamps and 1 A4 sheet of Angel Toppers.

Christmas - 2 Miles

This is my offering for the CD Sunday challenge this week, the image and papers are from my Ooh La La Christmas Presence CD, there were four images on the sheet - I suppose I could have just cropped it but I just couldn't resist printing them all and making some decoupage.

I layered the image onto red card stock and then onto Kraft along with the papers and the corrugated layer has been distressed with some white Pebeo paint.  I am having mega problems trying to embellish my cards at the moment - I just can't seem to get it right - so I have left it quite plain again. Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I decorated the inside of my card to complement the front with the same papers and part of an insert from the CD.

Winter Wonderland

I decided that I would like to join in with the Lili's Little Fairies Challenge this week and the theme is  - A Christmas Card for the Boys - a nice easy one then!

I had a good hunt though all of my Lili of the Valley stash and decided to use this fab die cut topper called Boy Sledging and teamed it up with the fab new Christmas papers from Bearly Mine Designs - Christmas Traditions.

I followed the sketch from this weeks Sketch Saturday and as it is a card for a boy I have kept things quite simple.  I layered the image onto red card stock and then white and all of the papers have been layered onto the white card stock.

I used my Martha Stewart Halloween Border punch - it's supposed to be goo but I think it looks quite like melting snow - across the centre and just added some buttons and stickles (which of course don't show up in the photographs) to embellish.  The sentiment is from the LOTV Simply Sophisticated set, stamped with fired brick distress ink.

I have decorated the inside of my card following the same layout as the front.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Tea Time

This is my entry for the CD Sunday Challenge this week - Tea Time.  I have decided to use my Joanna Sheen Furry Friends CD again and another cute kitten.

The image and the papers are from the CD, my card stock is Core'dinations, the ribbon and card candy are from my stash and the only tool that I used was an X-Cut border punch.

I have decorated the inside of my card with a portion from the matching insert from the CD that I have cut out with a Spellbinders classic circle die and then layered onto a scalloped circle die cut.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The CD Sunday Challenge - Tea Time
Victorine Stamps Challenge 44 - Lots of Layers (I have eight layers in total)
Anything Goes Challenge 77 - Animals
Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 118 - Cute and Cuddly
Hiding in My Craft Room Challenge 65 - Freestyle
Dream Valley Challenge 42 - Go Pink
Lexi's Creations Challenge 75 - Pink
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge 189 - Think PINK

Thank you for joining me this morning, make sure you pop over to The CD Sunday challenge blog and join in with the fun.

Mrs Claus

Good afternoon, it's time for a new challenge at Crafting for all Seasons and our theme this fortnight is 'COSTUMES/DRESS UP'.

We have three great sponsors for this challenge:

I have used the fab Kenny K image 'Mrs Claus' and this card is going to be my Christmas card for a very good friend - I can just see her dressed up like this on Christmas Eve.

I have coloured Mrs Clause with ProMarkers and added stickles to her outfit, my papers are Christmas Frolics from Bearly Mine Designs, full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I have decorated the inside of my card with matching papers:
