Never Forget

This is a card I have made for this weeks CD Sunday Challenge - Mainly Men, the image is from the Decoupage section of Joanna Sheen's Jayne Netley Mayhew Collection Part 2.

The papers are from one of Joanna's other CD's - Jane Shasky From the Heart of the Garden and I have layered everything onto Kraft card stock.  I have put the corners through my ribler to give them a little more interest and the sentiment is computer generated.  As the card is for a man I have kept the embellishments simple and just added some buttons.

I have decorated the inside of my card, the panel for the greeting has been cut with my Spellbinders Large Labels die.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The CD Sunday Challenge - Mainly Men
Here Come The Boys Challenge 32 - Jungle Theme
Joanna Sheen Challenge - Animal Crackers!
Alphabet Challenge - M for Men Only

Thanks!

Good morning, I hope everyone is well and enjoying the new week. We have a new challenge for you at Bearly Mine Designs and this week the theme is - Shapes - we would like you to make a shaped card.

This is the card I have made using gorgeous papers from the Bearly Mine Designs Simply Dots and Spring Delights sets.

This is quite a different card for me, I rarely make a card without an image but I got this idea from Mandy's Blog - A LITTLE SPACE OF MY OWN - go and check out her work, she has some stunning projects on her blog.

I made the flower by printing some of the flower embellishments from my Crafter's Companion Strawberry Kisses CD on to the back of my Bearly Mine paper and then cutting them out, the border across the middle is a Martha Stewart punch and the little butterfly was a gift from Tracy at Dies to Die For - she always puts lots of lovely die cuts in with your order.

Card Recipe:

Tools:  Martha Stewart edge punch, Marianne CreaTables LR0164
Embellishments:  Crafter's Companion Strawberry Kisses CD,
gems from stash and the butterfly was a gift from Dies to Die For

Snowman Couple

It's time for a new challenge over at The Crafty Pad and this week Joanie has chosen the theme - Interactive - we want you to make a project that moves, it could be a pop up, waterfall, spinner anything you like as long as it moves.

This was a real challenge for me and I have to admit I quite enjoyed it.  Here is my card:

It looks just the same as normal from the front, but open it up and ....

it's a pop up card.  I used the fab Crafty Pad image - Snowman Couple.  I printed the image twice and coloured it with a combination of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers.  I used the largest snowman on his own for the front of my card and then used the couple for the pop up on the inside of my card.  The snowy background was made by tearing some card and using stickles on the edges.

CARD RECIPE:

Papers:  My Mind's Eye - Snowed In (free with Cardmaking and Papercraft)
Card Stock;  Core'dinations
Tools:  Spellbinders - Scalloped Circle, Standard Circle, Labels Eighteen
Marianne CreaTables - LR0205

Purple Olivia

This is a card that I have made for my elderly neighbour's Granddaughter.  She loves purple so that made it really easy because it's my favourite colour as well.

The image, the little heart embellishment and the sentiment are all stamps from Jayne Nestorenko's Patchwork Polly - Olivia collection and the papers are from my paper stash (sorry I don't have clue where they came from originally).  The only other embellishment is some twine.  Quite a simple card really, I was caught by surprise and had to put it together rather quickly so no time to let glue dry - hence not many embellishments.

I did decorate the inside of my card but had written in it before I took the photographs so no photo I'm afraid.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks Challenge 98 - Stripes
Let's Ink It Up Challenge 25 - All Girl
One Stitch at a Time Challenge 122 - Anything Goes
Platypus Creek Digitals Challenge 11 - Things with Wings
That Craft Place Challenge - Anything Goes
Incy Wincy Designs Challenge - Dust it off..... (my stamps and papers are all at least a year old)
Simon Says Stamp & Show - No Rules!
Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Challenge 47 - Monochromatic
Love to Create Challenge 24 - 3 of Something (3 different papers, 3 different stamps)
Stamp n Doodle - Monochrome

Well, this was a quickly made card and rather a quick post to day, my eldest has finished school now and all I seem to do is taxi him around - very time consuming.  I hope you are all having a good week.

Christmas Cuddles

Well, I thought it was about time I made a start on some Christmas cards, I have secured a table at the Christmas Fair that I usually sell at each year and I don't want to be in my usual mad rush.

This is a card that I have made with my favourite Christmas House Mouse Decoupage from Joanna Sheen:

I made several in this style last year and they sold really well, I can't remember where I got the idea for the snow at the base from - I think it might have been a magazine.

I have decorated the inside with an insert printed from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse Inserts CD and that is where the backing papers came from as well

This photograph shows the decoupage layers

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 81 - Twinkle, twinkle little Star
Totally Papercrafts Friday Challenge 125 - Lots of Layers
Let's Craft and Create Challenge 49 - Decoupage

The Olympic Torch came to Town

On Wednesday the Olympic Torch came to Andover, the route went along the top of our road.  It was due to arrive at 4:30pm and I began to get a bit worried when people started to walk up the road at 2:00pm - I knew that my youngest son Laurence (who has autism) would not be able to wait around for ages.  We walked up at about 3:45 and managed to find a space.

It was a wonderful sunny afternoon (that was a miracle in itself) and I was amazed how well organised it was.  First we had some Majorettes, sorry they caught me by surprise and I didn't manage a photograph, they were followed by 'Test Valley Brass'

They look a bit hot don't they! There was a bus from Samsung giving out blow up plastic batons for the children (sorry mine are 'young adults' - or at least that's what they tell me) to play with

followed by a Coca Cola lorry giving out free bottles of Coke, very popular and welcome

Sorry, I only got the back end of the lorry - I was busy getting my free Coke.  Lloyds TSB came next with their vintage bus - unfortunately they weren't handing out any money!

There were loads of police cars and motorbikes but I didn't bother to take photos of them and then finally the torch bearer - sorry I don't have a clue who she was.

It was quite well supported, we were right at the end of the route, apparently there were thousands of people down in the town centre.

The only thing that I don't understand and that spoiled it a bit for me personally was that I did not have a clue who the person was carrying the torch.  There were five people chosen to carry the torch who lived in Andover, one who is a close friend, but not one of them carried the torch through Andover.  Our friend carried it in Salisbury, this makes no sense at all to me, I would have much preferred to have seen an Andover person carry the torch in Andover.  Does anyone know why they did it like this?  If so, please leave me a comment and let me know.

Well that's the excitement over, Andover can go back to sleep again now.

I just though I would share this with you, I feel so sorry for all of those that have had their day spoiled due to the rain, we were really lucky.

Triple Trouble

Good afternoon, it's time for another challenge at Crafting for all Seasons and Bianca our hostess this week has chosen the theme 'ICE CREAM'.

We have three great sponsors this time:

Bugaboo  Prize - 7 digital images
and
Kenny K Downloads  Prize - 5 digital images

I decided to make two cards this week and this one uses the fab image 'picnic ant cupcake' from Bugaboo - I think they look more like ice cream cones than cupcakes.  I took the image into word and copied and re-sized it to make the little ant family.

I coloured the ant family with my normal combination of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers, my papers are My Mind's Eye - Fine and Dandy and everything has been layered onto Core'dinations card stock.  I added some card candy and a computer generated sentiment. Quite a simple, fun card - they look like they are sneaking off with their stolen Ice Creams - that I think would be ideal for a child.

As usual I have decorated the inside of my card:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Make sure you pop over to the Crafting for all Seasons Challenge Blog and check out the DT inspiration, we would love for you to join us for our ' Ice Cream' challenge.

Before I go, I would like to say a very warm welcome to my new followers, thank you so much for joining me.  That's it from me for now, make sure you pop back later for my second card.
