Another hill to climb

We have spent the last week down in Somerset, we stayed in a lovely cottage and spent lots of time visiting the beach and walking on the Somerset Levels.

This is the boys at the top of Glastonbury Tor, us old ones didn't go up, we left it to the youngsters again.

This is the view from the top, we were very lucky with the weather, this was the cloudiest day of the week.

We are back home today, I will share some more photographs in the week.

Thank you for visiting my blog today and thank you for all of the lovely comments that you leave - they are all read and very much appreciated.

Deck the Halls

This is the last of the shaker cards that I created for the launch shows on Create and Craft,  I used the Crafter's Companion Shaker Stamp and Die sets.

I used the Christmas Ornament collection to create this card, there are two different baubles to make - the sentiment is from the collection as well. The papers are from Sara's A Winter’s Tale Signature collection and the cardstock is Centura Pearl.

What a view ...

We spent a wonderful day at Brean Sands in Somserset yesterday, the weather was glorious - there was a nice breeze so it wasn't too hot.

This is the view from the top of Brean Down.

The youngsters walked to the top, this is Laurence admiring the view, there are over two hundred steps.

Me and hubby stayed on the beach with Ramsey, it is over 6 miles long and welcomes dogs, there is also a little cafe and an ice cream van parks on the right on the beach.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, your company is much appreciated - I will be back with a card tomorrow.

Let it Snow

I have another easel card to day, this time it is a shaker card.  I used the Crafter's Companion Snow Globe Christmas Shaker Die collection, there are lots of stamps in the collection for you to create little scenes along with a die cut sentiment and a snowflake.

I used papers from the Decorative Christmas paper pad and some ribbon from my stash.

Butterfly Easel

This is a card that I created for my eldest son's girlfriend.  I used one of the Crafter's Companion Create-a-Card Easel dies.

I used Kraft card stock and card from the Roaring Twenties card pack.  The 'Happy Birthday' die is from my stash, I'm not sure what brand it is.  I cut a couple of additional flowers and butterflies so that I could layer them up for dimension.

Baubles & Bling

I have another shaker card to share today, I tried to do something a little different for this one - not sure it worked though!

I cut the Christmas Ornament die from four different colours of Mirri cardstock and arranged them on a 7" square card blank.  I filled them all with four different colours of sequins and added a stamped sentiment that is also from the Christmas Ornament collection.

I had a lovely day shopping with my son yesterday, I was a bit disappointed with the clothes shopping but managed to get lots more storage for my craft room.

A Fun Filled Festive Season

I found this card hiding away in my draft folder!  I created it with the Hunkydory Festive Friends Luxury Topper collection that was part of the 2019 Christmas Blockbuster, I had forgotten all about it.

I used the Polar Bear Pals collection to create this simple card, I think it would be ideal for a child.

I am going shopping in Southampton with my eldest today, a little clothes shopping followed by lunch and then a trip to Ikea to buy some more storage for my craft room,  The re-organization is progressing well but why does it always take twice as long as you expect!

Winter Wishes

I didn't manage to post yesterday, I am in the middle of a major re-organization of my craft room and I really mean major! I have 10 years worth of stash to go through and I am really going to be ruthless and get it sorted once and for all so if I don't appear much over the next week you will know why.

I have another shaker card to share today, I used the Christmas Window Stamp and Die collection to create this card, you get stamps to create the view from the inside and outside of the window, I decided to look outside for this card.

I used Kraft cardstock and papers from the Nature’s Garden Poinsettia Perfection Paper Pad. The sentiment is from the Christmas Window Stamp and Die collection.

I inked the edges of everything, I think the patterned paper looks a bit like old wall paper and the inking adds to the vintage feel.  The ribbon, twine and pearls are from my stash,

Walking Ramsey

I though I would share a couple of photographs of Ramsey today, when he goes for a walk he loves to chase and carry sticks - I think he got a little carried away though!

I'm sorry that this photograph is a little blurry but he was running full pelt at the time!

We also met some swans on the path around our local lake the other morning, we decided to be cautious and turned back.

The next day they were swimming in the lake so we could do a complete circuit.

Ornament Shaker

This is another of the cards that I created for the launch of the new Crafter's Companion Christmas Shaker dies - you can find them in the Crafter's Companion shop HERE.  I was asked to create some samples for the shows and this is one of them. You can find more cards using the Christmas Shaker Die collection HERE.

I used the Christmas Ornament die to create this card, you can create two versions of the ornament and there is a die cut sentiment and lots of sentiment stamps as well.  I used papers from the Nature’s Garden Poinsettia Perfection Paper Pad along with some matt gold Mirri, I fussy cut some on the poinsettias from the papers to embellish.

Traditional Christmas

Craig will be on Create and Craft tomorrow to launch the new Crafter's Companion Christmas Shaker dies, I was asked to create some samples for the shows and this is one of them.

I used the Christmas Window Stamp and Die collection to create this card, you get stamps to create the view from the inside and outside of the window so I decided to use them both on this card.  The first one is looking in and the second one is looking out.

The papers are from Sara's A Winter’s Tale Signature collection and I fussy cut the poinsettias from the Nature’s Garden Poinsettia Perfection Paper Pad. The sentiment is from the Christmas Window Stamp and Die collection.

Saturday Afternoon Cake

On most Saturdays my Mother-in-Law comes to spend the day with us, she lives quite close to us and often joins us for family holidays as well.

I started to bake cake for us to have with a cup of tea in the afternoon and it has become part of our Saturday afternoon routine, I usually bake a Victoria Sponge or a Crunchy Top Lemon Cake, a Mary Berry recipe - sometimes hubby bakes scones or we have something different but most often it is one of these so I thought I would share some photographs today.

I have to leave the Victoria Sponge plain except for some strawberry jam in the centre, hubby is not keen on cream or icing sugar on the top!

It looks like it is going to be a nice day today, I will pop to town this morning and then spend the afternoon in my craft room finishing some DT projects.

I used the Home for Christmas Luxury Topper Set along with some silver Mirri cardstock and some silver Diamond Sparkles.

I had a lovely relaxing day yesterday, I had a leg wax (not very relaxing) followed by a pedicure, manicure and facial - it is my monthly treat.

I should have posted this card yesterday, apparently it was International Cat Day - that's a new one on me!  I used the Hunkydory It's a Cat's Life collection along with some gold Mirri cardstock and gold Diamond Sparkles.

We had a lovely walk on Chilbolton Common yesterday with Ramsey, the car park was full of cows when we got there!

Ramsey in the water, it took him a while to like water but we can't keep him out of it now.

Sweet Treats

These are the final two projects that I created with the Sweet Treats Embossing boards and CD ROM from Crafter's Companion, I used the Sweet Things board to create these pretty boxes.

They are an adaptation of the bird box, I just cut four of the roof pieces instead of two - the papers and embellishments are all from the CD.
