Craft Retreat

I took part in an online Craft Retreat at the weekend, it was run by Clare from My Creative Spirit and I have to say I really enjoyed it.  We created four projects, the first of which was this Tall Boy.  There were several options available, I chose the Platinum option which included all of the products that you needed to create all four projects.

We were supplied with all of the MDF pieces required to create this super project, the quality of the kit was fabulous, everything joined together perfectly.

I used papers from the Graphic 45 Bloom collection, they were also provided as part of the retreat, there were several different collections to choose from.

There were also two options for the design of the lid, I chose the simple one as I had not done anything like this before but you could also create a drop box with an acetate top if you wanted - maybe next time!

The three drawers all open, we attached little knobs and lined them on the inside.

This is my decorated lid, I will definitely give the drop box lid a go sometime soon, Clare explained how to do it really clearly and it wasn't as complicated as I thought it would be.  I will certainly join any future retreats, it was quite tiring but very enjoyable.

Thank you for popping in today and thank you for all of the lovely comments that you leave, they are all read and much appreciated.

Mother's Day Heart

It's time for a new challenge at Digi Choosday, the theme for the Design Team is Not a card/Mothers Day but you can enter an Anything Goes project if you like.

I decided to decorate an MDF Heart to create a Mother's Day gift.

I used papers, flowers and butterflies from the Helga Hippo Collection - I did lots of fussy cutting and layering for dimension, each flower is made up of three layers.

I would like to enter this Mother's Day gift into the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge Week 407 - Anything but a card
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Layer it up
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 184 - For a Special Woman

Make sure you pop over to the Digi Choosday Challenge Blog and pick up your discount code. Check out the DT inspiration whilst you are there, we would love for you to join us for our Anything Goes challenge - you might like to join the DT and follow the optional Not a card/Mothers Day theme. If you need some more inspiration you might like to take a look at our Facebook page.

Thank you for calling today, your company is much appreciated.
