Ava Fairy

The theme is Things with Wings and Clouds and I was given a lovely image from Bugaboo who are one of the sponsors for the challenge - make sure you pop over to the challenge blog for full details of the sponsors and prizes.

The inspiration for this card came from one on Vicky's Blog, I would never have thought to put these papers with dark green card stock and I have to admit her's looks a lot better than mine.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I have decorated the inside of my card using the same design and papers as the front.

Abracadabra!

I'm running late again this week with my entry for the CD Sunday Challenge - the theme is Showtime and I decided to use this fabulous LOTV Mini Masterpiece.

The CD element on my card is the stripy paper from one of my Bearly Mine Designs Designer Extreme CD's.  The card stock is Core'dinations and I have used my X-cut star die for the star embellishment.  The ticket sentiment was from the Crafty Pad (unfortunately now closed) and the card candy is from my stash.

I have kept the decoration quite simple on the inside of this card, mainly because I used up so much of the embossed card stock trying to get the front right that I didn't have enough left to do very much on the inside.

.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The CD Sunday Challenge - Showtime
Crafting When We Can Challenge 37 - Cards for Boys
One Stop Craft Challenge 214 - Anything Goes
ATC's & Cards with Attitude Challenge 33 - Be My Valentine/Anything Goes
Fat Pages & Cards with Attitude Challenge 33 - Be My Valentine/Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting today, make sure you pop over to the CD Sunday Challenge blog and have a go at this weeks challenge.

Snowman Couple

Good Morning everyone, it's time for a new Challenge over at The Crafty Pad, it was my turn to choose the theme this week and I decided to challenge myself and have chosen - Add Some Glitter - it can be anything you like as long as we can see some glitter.

Those of you who know me will be aware that I don't often use glitter, the occasional stickles and that's about it.  Well I remembered why that was when making my card - I managed to get glitter absolutely everywhere, you've never seen such a mess!  My image is The Crafty Pad - Snowman Couple - don't they just look jolly.

I've gone for a silver and white theme with just the splash of blue ProMarker on their hats, gloves and scarves.  The silver is mainly glitter, I'm amazed any managed to get on the card there was so much all over me and my craft room.  I sponged a little background for my snowman couple with distress ink and then embossed some snowflakes onto it, you can just about see it behind them.  I then layered my die cut trees and snowman couple on top of it.  The snowflakes and stars are from my stash and I cut the sentiment from one of last years Christmas cards.

I didn't quite know what to do to decorate the inside of my card because I had not used any designer papers so I kept it very simple using the square that I had die cut from the front of my card and some silver mirror card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Blue Christmas

Good Morning everyone, it's time for a new Challenge over at The Crafty Pad and the lovely Dawn has chosen the theme - Christmas is Coming - so we would love to see all of your Christmas related projects.

I seem to be having a bit of a colour theme with my Crafty Pad DT cards at the moment the last one was Pink Butterflies and this time it's Blue Christmas, I have used the delightful Crafty Pad image Christmas Tree Trio and this is my card:

I printed the image out three times onto some pale blue papers from the Bearly Mine Designs Christmas Wishes collection and added the brown with my Cocoa ProMarker, as is usual with me I have cut the images out to create some decoupage layers.  The base paper is also from the Bearly Mine Designs Christmas Wishes collection and my card stock is Core'dinations, the only embellishment is some Ice Stickles added to the snowflakes on the image.

I have decorated the inside of my card using the same papers and a smaller image:

Our wonderful Sponsor for this challenge is:

Pretty in Yellow

I have made this card for the Songbird Challenge - Build Me Up Buttercup - yellow must be one of the main colours on your card.  As soon as I saw this challenge I just knew the image that I wanted to use, the only problem was I didn't have it, so I had to buy the CD.

What do you think of the way I have been taking my photographs lately, I never seemed to be able to get them straight, so I have been taking them at a slight angle - you can't see if they are straight or not now!

The Image and the papers are all from Ooh La La Creations All Dressed Up CD, I wanted this CD when I first saw it on Create & Craft but managed to resist.  I eventually bought it directly from Ooh La La and it arrived quicker than it would have from Create & Craft.

The card stock is Bazzill Basics from Craftie-Charlie, the sentiment is from The Crafty Pad and the ribbon was in my stash.  I have inked the edges of the sentiment to match the image.

The inside of my card has been decorated to match the front leaving a blank rectangle with inked edges to write on.

This card is for my niece's daughter - does that make her my grand niece or great niece - I'm not quite sure, anyway I hope she likes it.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges.

Songbird Challenge 6 - Build Me A Buttercup
Lollipop Crafts Challenge 92 - Happy Birthday
Sketch N Stash Challenge 99 - Sketch (new stash CD, old stash ribbon and sentiment)
The Squirrel and the Fox Challenge 29 - Use a Ribbon
Daring Cardmakers Challenge - Don't Worry, Be Happy
The Emerald Faeries Challenge 34 - Anything Goes
The Perfect Sentiment Challenge 53A - Happy Birthday/Happy Anniversary

Thank you for calling today, they say it is going to get cold at the weekend - it doesn't feel particularly warm here at the moment, so I'd better find my woolly socks out!

Pink Butterflies

Good Morning everyone, it's time for a new Challenge over at The Crafty Pad and the lovely Helen has chosen the fab theme -
Distress it! - so Ink it, Rip it; Sand it, Scrunch it ... whatever it takes to make your project look distressed!

I decided to use the gorgeous
Butterflies with Verse image and lots of distress ink.

I used a shaped card blank that I bought from Create and Craft ages ago, well I used most of it anyway - I have loads of different shaped cards and I hardly ever use them.  I cut this one in half and folded it down the middle for the base card and then cut a section out of the other half for the top layer. I traced around the shape on a page from a French/English dictionary that is now redundant (my son has now dropped French and German studies).  I inked the card blanks and the dictionary page along with a doily with a little old paper and a lot of victorian velvet
distress ink.

I printed the butterfly images and the verse after changing the size and colour in Word.  I then cut the verse out with a Spellbinders Floral Oval die and cut around the butterfly images to which I then added some 3D Crystal Lacquer.  All that was left to do was a little more distressing, tie a bow and some construction.

This is the inside of my card, I didn't quite know what to do for this, so I kept it very simple with a butterfly image and a little distress ink.

Our wonderful Sponsor for this challenge is:

The prize consists of:

1 set of rubber Christmas themed stamps and 1 A4 sheet of Angel Toppers.

Jeremy Giraffe

Good afternoon, it's time for a new challenge at Crafting for all Seasons and our theme this fortnight is 'SCHOOL DAYS/FOR A CHILD'.

This week we have two fab sponsors:

Bugaboo Stamps
 Prize - 7 digital images

and

Prize - $10 gift card

I decided to use one of my own images again, I have so many it seems a shame not to use them. This is my card:

The image is Jeremy Popping Around, there are two versions of this image and they both have their own sentiment but I decided to use one of the new Crafty Pad Happy Birthday Sentiments because I wanted to make it look a little like a Sun.

Jeremy has been coloured with ProMarkers and a cloudy back ground has been created with distress inks and a mask.  I cut around one side of the image to add some extra interest to the card:

I have kept things relatively simple again, the papers are from Bearly Mine Designs and my embellishments are some card candy from my stash and some ric rac, also from my stash.

You can see that I have cut around the edge of the image a little better in this photograph:

This is the inside of my card that has been decorated to complement the front:

Welcome

Good afternoon, it's a funny old day here - one minute we have bright sunshine and the next big black clouds - but as of yet no rain.

Matt, my eldest son has just gone to enroll at college, he received his GCSE results this morning and he did well - A's in Maths, English, Music and Humanities and all the rest were B's - a total of twelve.  He was really nervous when he went to get them, I feel so sorry for them all, there is so much hype and pressure and at the end of the day not everyone is academic - we've always made it clear that as long as he does the best he can it doesn't matter what the outcome is.

Anyway, this is another card I have made using one of the fab new releases over at The Crafty Pad Designs, I just love these Acorns & Autumn Leaves images:

I got the idea from a magazine, but they had used die cut leaves, I printed multiple copies of the images and coloured them all in different colours with my ProMarkers and then cut them out.  It was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be to arrange the leaves in a circle and I'm still not 100% happy with it!

The papers are from the docrafts Wellington range and the card stock is Kraft.  I coloured some card stock with my Burnt Orange ProMarker and printed a computer generated sentiment onto it before cutting it out with one of my Spellbinders Ribbon Banners dies.  My bow is some seam binding coloured with the same ProMarker and the same seam binding has been threaded through a couple of buttons at the bottom.

I used the left over pieces of paper to decorate the inside of my card, you just can't see the darker one because it is next to the fold and I wanted to show the dimension of the leaves and the sentiment:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I used the beautiful Crafty Pad Designs image - Butterfly with verse and borders.  I kept things really simple just mounting the lovely verse on a die cut base.  I printed the butterflies in several sizes, cut them out and added some black Sakura glaze.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

Good evening, sorry I'm a bit late today, I've been having a bit of a tidy up in my craft room and you know what it's like - half way through you think 'why did I ever start this'!

You must pop over to The Crafty Pad Designs Shop, Debbie has been very busy and there are lots of new goodies there - new images (including some gorgeous Christmas ones), papers and sentiments.  This is a card I have made using some of the new images:

Top Tip Tuesday have a 'One Layer Card' challenge at the moment and as this is something I have never tried before I just had to have a go.  I have used two of the images from the new 'Acorns and Autumn Leaves' set, watch this space for the leaves - I have a plan!

I printed the images and verse onto some Elegance Satin card stock and coloured them using my FlexMarkers.

I just put a very plain insert into this card with a smaller version of the image:
