Frequently asked questions ...

I am going to answer another of the Frequently asked questions that I have received on my blog, quite a few people have asked how I computer generate a white on black sentiment like the one on this card HERE.

It really is quite simple, I always use Microsoft Word to create my sentiments.

Open a new document and click 'Insert' on the Toolbar at the top of the screen.  Then click on 'Text Box' and then 'Draw Text Box' at the bottom of the drop down window.

Using the computer mouse draw a text box large enough for your sentiment.  Click on 'Shape Fill' and select black.

Click on 'Home' on the Toolbar and select 'White' from the font section.

You can now type your sentiment and choose the font and size that you require.

I hope this helps those that have asked the question.

New World

This is the card that I made for my youngest son to give his Dad for his Birthday. I find it so difficult to make for my husband, he has lots of hobbies but not the ones that are usually covered by craft stamps or collections.

I took to Google and searched for images relating to his latest computer game - New World and created a card based around that.

I used my Moonstone Multi-Aperture Frame Die, it was one of the dies that I received when I was on the Hunkydory Design Team many moons ago, I cut it from red card stock and popped three of the images that I found behind it. I used a Die'sire Embossing folder to emboss the other red layer and alternated the red with black card stock layers.

I computer generated the sentiment and cut it out with my Die-namics Fishtail Flag Dies, I used foam pads between some of the layers to add some dimension. I decorated the inside with a map from the game.

Christmas Gifts

This is the card that I created for my eldest son, he lives on his own but he is in our bubble so he spent the Christmas break with us.

I used my Carta Bella Christmas Delivery Collection, I think this collection is perfect for masculine cards - I have the digital collection so I could print several copies of the gifts and layer them up,  I computer generated the sentiment.

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, I had a little break from blogging for a while - it was just me, hubby and our two boys for Christmas this year, I have to say it was rather nice just the four of us for a change, very relaxed and a lot less work.
