Sending Birthday Wishes

This is my card for this weeks Less is More challenge, the theme is Blue and Brown.  I decided to use my Little Kingdom Stamp Soup collection from Polkadoodles.

I printed the tag and cut it out before adding some beautiful fussy cut flowers - I layered two of them up for dimension.

I computer generated the sentiment and added some ribbon and twine from my stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Less is More Challenge 288 - Colour - Blue & Brown
WordArt Wednesdays Challenge Weeks 242/243 - Anything Goes
As You Like It Challenge 86 - Favourite Flowers and WHY - I love all flowers but as I suffer from hey fever paper flowers are my favourite

Nautical Seagull

This is another of the Editor's Selection cards that I created for the July edition of Making Cards Magazine. This card was made using the bonus craft papers that were sent out with the monthly e-newsletter - you can sign up at www.makingcardsmagazine.com.

The aim of these cards is to show what can be created using the free images and papers along with a few basic stash items.

I added a little colour to the beak and feet of the seagull before using a circle die to cut him out.  I also fussy cut a fish and added a little pink to his stripes to match.  The sentiment is from an Ooh La La Creations CD.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge132  - By The Seaside
Deep Ocean Challenge 135 - Seaside/Beach

Frequently asked questions ...

I have been receiving lots of questions from friends and followers on my blog lately so I thought I do a little series of posts to answer some of them.

I have decided to start with

"What paper do you use for printing?"

Backing Papers:  I print all of my backing papers on a coated paper.  I use 170G Matt Coated Inkjet Photo Quality Paper from Photo Paper Direct

Decoupage and Toppers:  I often use the same paper to print decoupage images - you do need to be careful when cutting out though because as the paper is coated you can scratch the surface with your scissors.

I also use satin photo paper when I would like to achieve a glossy result.  I use A4 Satin Photo Paper Premium 200g also from Photo Paper Direct.

You might think that both of these are rather expensive but they are always on offer.  I also find that if you place an order and then don't order for a while you will receive additional offers via email - I have even managed to buy one pack and get three packs free, so I bulk buy and then wait for another good offer.

Digital Images:  I use Joanna Sheen's Elegance Satin card stock when I am going to colour with Alcohol Markers.

and Crafter's Companion Watercolour Card if I am going to use watercolours.

I hope you find this information useful and that I have managed to answer some of the questions that I have received.  I would just like to say that I am NOT recommending these products, I am only letting you know which products I prefer.

Make a wish

I was asked to create the Editor's Selection cards for the July edition of Making Cards Magazine. I had to use the super Mermaid Folk papers that were free with the magazine and also available on the free CD.

The aim of these cards is to show what can be created using just the free images and papers along with some basic stash items so it is always a challenge.

For this card I coloured the sentiment panel to match the papers using a blue ProMarker and just added some black ribbon to opposite corners.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Not Just Cards Challenge 34 - Always Anything Goes
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge 39 - Always Anything Goes
