A Beautiful Day

I'm glad to see, after my last post talking about blogging, that most of my current friends intend to continue with their blogs and I have to agree with some of the comments, that you do tend to get out of blogging what you put into it, meaning that if you don't comment on other's blogs, you are unlikely to receive many comments on yours.

Anyway, enough of that, this is another card that I have created with my Heartfelt Creations Wild Aster Collection, I was lucky enough to pick this up at a bargain price from Facebook Marketplace - Facebook does have some good points!

I have used one of the beautiful papers along with one of the toppers, I cut out the image from the centre of the topper to create a window and form a shaker card.  I used the dies from the collection to cut out the flowers and foliage, I also fussy cut the butterflies and added a sentiment from the collection.

Holiday in Pembrokeshire

As promised, I have a few photographs from our holiday to share, I don't have many as it was so lovely and warm I was wearing a skirt and t-shirt most of the time so I didn't have my phone with me!

The first two are of Broad Haven Beach, it was the closest one to the cottage that we were staying in and this is the only day that we had any rain, we still managed a lovely walk on the beach with the dogs though.  The first one is my youngest son with our two dogs and the second is a very distant hubby and son with the dogs.

Most of the photographs are of beautiful beaches that were close to our holiday cottage, I'm not sure of the names of all of the beaches, most were beautiful sandy beaches but some had some pebbles on them - the pebbles were usually at the back of the beach or along the high tide line.

Both of the dogs absolutely love the sea, it is difficult to get them out of it!

This is the Cathedral at St Davids, this was our only visit to a town, actually it is a city - the smallest in the UK I think.

This is Dobby's grave on Freshwater West Beach, it is were they filmed the 'Shell Cottage' scenes in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, it is a stunning beach and the grave location can be found tucked away in the sand dunes.

I gave up trying to get to this beach, the walk (more of a clamber) was a bit much for me, so I sat on the top of the cliff and read my kindle, sitting in the sun with a lovely cool sea breeze, whilst the boys and the dogs clambered down to the beach.

This was the view from the back of our cottage one evening, the cottage was on a working farm and it was lovely, it was an ideal location for exploring the Pembrokeshire coastline.

It was a wonderful, relaxing holiday away from everything and at this time of year it was surprisingly quiet - I don't think I would like to be there in the peak summer season, although the beaches are large and sandy, the roads are mostly single carriageway and I think you would spend most of your time reversing back to let people pass.

On a more sombre note, I was a little sad yesterday to see that another of my blogging friends is no longer going to be blogging, it seems that bloggers are diminishing fast at the moment.  I know blogging can be a little time consuming but I quite enjoy a peaceful half an hour writing my blog posts and visiting my friends.  I feel you get to know people on their blogs, much more than on Facebook and Instagram and you don't have to put up with the negativity and posturing that you do elsewhere, Facebook seems to be a lot about complaining or boasting, you don't get that on blogs.  I hope no more of my friends are thinking about giving up on their blogs, it would be a real shame if it simply dies out!

Thank you for visiting my blog today and thank you for all of the lovely comments that you leave, they are all read and much appreciated.

Oriental Dragonflies

Sorry I've not been around much for the past week or so, we are just back from a wonderful holiday in Pembrokeshire, South Wales, we were certainly lucky with the weather - we had one wet and windy day, even then we still managed a lovely long walk on the beach with the dogs, the rest of the holiday was glorious sunshine.  I will share some photographs a bit later when I have managed to sort through them.

I have a rather simple card to share today, I have used the Hunkydory Oriental Dreams Papercraft Kit that I picked up on Facebook again.

I used a topper and some of the printed card stock along with a sentiment placed on a rosette, I usually do this when the sentiment is small, the flowers were cut using my Heartfelt Creations Flowering Dogwood Die and I added some gold leaves and gold twine.

Sending Love your Way

I have another card to share that I created with my Heartfelt Creations Wild Aster collection, this time I have used the pink colourway, there are usually two different colour choices in a Heartfelt Creations collection.

I used the Simple Centrepiece Die to create the card base and the Elegant Heats Centrepiece Die to create the frame, both from Heartfelt Creations along with the sentiment, a fussy cut butterfly and of course the beautiful flowers and foliage.

Oriental Gold

I have been having another play with the Hunkydory Oriental Dreams Papercraft Kit that I picked up on Facebook recently.

I used a topper and printed card stock from the collection, I added some additional card stock and a sentiment from the Crafter's Companion Downton Abbey Collection.  The frame die is also from Crafter's Companion, I cut the flowers using my Heartfelt Creations Flowering Dogwood die, the foliage is an unbranded die, I think it came from a magazine.

Live in the Moment

This is another card that I created with my Heartfelt Creations Wild Aster collection, another of my Facebook Marketplace finds, it was a real bargain and I love it.

The papers, sentiment and flowers are all from the Wild Aster collection and I also fussy cut the little butterflies from the papers.  I used one of my Crafter's Companion Advanced Nesting Dies to cut the pretty panels, I'm really trying to use everything that I buy at the moment - it's so easy to just put them away and forget about them!

Thank you for visiting my blog today and thank you for all of the lovely comments that you leave, they are all read and much appreciated.

Oriental Dreams

I've been selling lots of my unwanted stash on Facebook recently, the only downside to that is you tend to see what everyone else is selling and surprise, surprise, I have bought a few bits and bobs as well!

I created this card with a Hunkydory Topper Set that I purchased, it is the Oriental Dreams collection.

I used one of the beautiful toppers and a sheet of the matching card stock.  I cut the flowers from some Maroon card stock and the leaves from gold Mirri card stock.  The sentiment is from the Crafter's Companion Downton Abbey collection - a real blast from the past, I placed it on a rosette cut with my Tim Holtz Paper Rosette die.
