This beautiful card Pauline. It reminds me of my Mum and my Nan both were sewers and made clothes, in my nan's case she made them for other people as well as family. My mum made my wedding dress for me almost 40 years ago now and although they have passed on there love of sewing to me, it's been a while since I made any clothing. I'm sure that it will bring back memories to your mum of when you were small and she was sewing clothes for you.

This brings back memories for me too with this lovely card. All the women in my life sewed, so I had to learn too. I remember my grandma sewing on her treadle machine. I love all the details on this card with the dress form and bobbin and thread.

OH! SO many memories in this card for me too Pauline. Your Mum is going to be carried back in time with this card, as I think you have done with us followers of yours. It is a gorgeous card in every way.
ReplyDeleteMy memories of my Mum with her Singer treadle sewing machine, making my dresses and smocking them too. I used to practice with newspaper in the machine, loved it, until I could make my own dresses. I too have made my own furnishings over the years, I stopped making my own dresses, when I moved into our own house, MANY years ago, but furnishings carry on even now.
