Birthday Boy


I made this card for a very good friend of my eldest son, he has just turned seventeen, probably one of the most difficult ages to make a boy's card for.  He's not really into sport or anything so no help there then!.


The papers are My Mind's Eye, from the Miss Caroline Dolled Up collection, there are some floral ones in the pack but quite a few of them are suitable for masculine cards.

I used a Sizzix die to cut the label and a Britannia Die to cut the sentiment, the large star is an X-cut die and I punched the smaller stars and added some 3D Crystal Lacquer to them.


I have also made a matching tag to go with my card.

    Another fabulous card Pauline. I love that peeled paint look paper, stunning. Its very difficult to make a card for a teenager that doesn't really have any interests but you have managed to do an amazing job! Michelle x

    I agree with you - this age is the trickiest one for making male cards. Cute images are often too cute, and adult images can be a bit "boring"! Therefor it's easier to put the effort into colors and designs. I think you solved this one nicely:)

    This is a fab design Pauline! not easy making cards for young men… I never know what to put on them… but I love this design… the papers are gorgeous and I love the layout and those wonderful stars… it's perfect and I'm sure your son's friend will love it! :-)

    This is an awesome card for a seventeen year old boy. It's graphic and bold with cool texture and clean lines. I love the simplicity of the tag.
