Well, I'm now sure that I am going completely nuts! I decided to use one of my new LOTV Art Pad images, I printed out some lovely papers that co-ordinated beautifully and found some matching purple card stock. I layered the image onto the purple card stock and then onto some white. As you will see the image is quite large and when I placed it onto the patterned papers they just got completely lost so I decided to layer it directly onto some more of the purple card stock with just a simple punched border.
I was rather pleased with the result until I realised that I had used nothing from a CD, my lovely papers that I had printed out were still sat there completely forgotten - how daft can I get!
I don't know if I will get away with this for the CD Sunday Challenge, if not please delete my entry ladies but I decided to print an insert from Joanna Sheen's Jane Shasky CD (the one that I had printed the lovely backing papers that are still sat on my desk from) and use that to decorate the inside of my card - so that means that the CD element on my card is on the inside.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
The CD Sunday Challenge - Purple Paradise
Seems A Little Sketchy Challenge 38 - Sketch
There She Goes Challenge 205 - April Showers, May Flowers
Crafts and Me Challenge 131 - Floral Frenzy
Fresh Brewed Designs May Challenge - Flowers
Crafty Sentiments Challenge - The Letter B (blooms, blue, border, butterflies)
Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge 102 - May Flowers
Thank you for calling.

Your card is stunning Pauline. I love the image and it looks so fabulous on the dark purple backing.

This is gorgous Pauline. Love the design with the LOTV flowers and the insert xx
ReplyDeleteI had to smile Pauline. I have done exactly the same thing myself....and I am on the design team.
ReplyDeleteAs we have always said that as long as there is something from a Cd all is OK.

The CD Sunday challenge is to use a CD in the making of your card - anywhere. As far as I'm concerned you have - you clever girl- what a save. The main image is gorgeous - I so love lilac and I think you did right by making it a stand alone image and not using the bp. Fabulous card.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Pauline. Love the image and your CD papers inside are so pretty. Great save. xx
ReplyDeleteI think it was a great call not to use patterned paper on the front. The image is so beautiful and full of details, and the clean design gives this card a classy and elegant look. The inside is beautifully decorated as well.
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Pauline and the insert goes perfectly with the main image. I think we have all done something similar at some time so not to worry, and the end result is a fabulous card :-)

A beautiful image Pauline and it didn't need anything else. I love Lilac's and have a couple in the garden at home. I know where you are coming from as I have made the same mistake. It does count for our challenge as you used a CD for the insert, something you always show us. Thanks for joining us again this week.

What a beautiful card. Lilacs were my mothers favourite flower & are therefore special to me. x
ReplyDeleteAww this is gorgeous Pauline!! I love the image and it's so beautiful that it doesn't need many embellies as they would detract from it… so I think the border and edging are perfect! :-)
ReplyDeleteOoh I am always doing daft things!!! I nearly entered a card into the Promarkers Challenge a few weeks ago and I had coloured it with Copics!! … glad I noticed in time... I would have looked SO stupid… LOL

ReplyDeleteSo pleased you rescued your card for entry to our challenge. A great idea to add an insert from a CD. This is one of the great joys of CD crafting, sometimes we just need a little something to finish our cards. A beautiful image of the lilac, I can understand why you needed to use it. Thanks for sharing with us at CD Sunday Challenges. Caz DT
