Lotus Lily

Believe it or not this is my card for this weeks CD Sunday Challenge, the theme for this week is 'Land of the Pharaohs'.

I don't really have any CDs with Egyptian images, nor do I have any toppers or stamps so I decided to make a card using a Lotus Lily. According to ancient Egyptian mythology the lotus flower is the symbolic representation of the sun - it was often discovered scattered in the tombs of the ancient Pharaohs.

Well, that's the history lesson over and this is my card:

The image and matching floral paper is from Joanna Sheen's Royal Horticultural Society CD and the striped paper is from Pink Petticoat. Quite a simple card really, the card stock is from my stash along with the little pearl hearts and the ribbon was also from Joanna Sheen.

I have added one layer of decoupage to the image and used a smaller image to decorate the inside of my card:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The CD Sunday Challenge - Land of the Pharaohs
Artistic Inspirations Challenge 32 - Flowers
Craft Your Passion Challenge 153 - Favourite 2 Colours (Pink & Green)
Papertake Weekly - 1-2-3 (1 ribbon, 2 papers, 3 pearl hearts)
Incy Wincy Designs - Things that begin with F... (Flower)
Scrap-Creations - Favourite Embellishment (Ribbon)
Tuesday Alchemy Challenge 52 - Anything Goes

Thank you so much for your visit today, any comments are very much appreciated.
